Glad you walked away from that one.

Soft bags on top of side cases

GIVI used to make the PLR 357 kit for the European bikes side bags. From what I've seen, they have been out of production for some time, though some NOS kits might be still on a shelf somewhere. When I made mine, I got a reasonably priced set of Monokey mounts for a Beemer(the standard Monokey...

Soft bags on top of side cases

You could convert the side bags to GIVI Monokey and have a great selection of larger bags, like these E41s

    Need Help Leaving DC Area

Definitely agree that you don't want to drive in D.C. Parking is an expensive PIA and traffic regulations on major arteries can change with the time of day. Metro is currently undergoing a major maintenance program, supposedly to be completed in June. You might want to check...

The winter that wasn't (so far)

That 3.4 gallon tank is a sore subject among a lot of owners, hence the 3 gallon auxiliary tank on mine. One of the favorite sayings on the Madura board is, "It'll pass everything but a gas station".

The winter that wasn't (so far)

Correct, it's the 700 model. Pretty rare bike; Suzuki only made them in 1985. In 16 years of owning it, I've never seen another, except at the Madura rallies. Very low maintenance and it's been quite reliable. With a set of E 360 bags and a waterproof bag, I've used it as a light touring bike...

The winter that wasn't (so far)

Thanks, I paid $1800 for it in 2000 with 8700 miles on it. Aside from being my back road bike, it's been a good test bed for any accessories I might want to add to the other bikes.

The winter that wasn't (so far)

Weather around these parts has been really strange this year. A few cold spells, two snowfalls that were light enough (1-2" max) to sweep with a broom, and unusually warm temperatures. Since I'll be incapacitated after next Tuesday, I though I'd better take advantage of this gift and get a few...

    Maryland riders?

Maybe in May and later. Going in for another knee replacement end of February, so I'll probably need a month or two to heal. I'm a few miles from you in Middletown.

Glad to hear it's working well for you. I'll be going in to get my other one replaced at the end of the month.

    The Bionic Man

It took a long time (months) for the swelling to dissipate in my knee to the point that it was the same size as the other. Physical therapy will be painful, the docs recommended that I take pain meds before each session. My range of motion was slow getting back to the where they wanted it and...

I've been using Flickr since Google went from Picasa to Google Photos and I couldn't get Google Photos to work for posting here, been satisfied with it so far.

    Deer Damage

Glad you were able to walk away from that - could have been much worse. It's that time of the year again when those four legged pests are going nuts, not thinking of anything but mating. Good luck with getting your bike repaired/replaced.

    long trip packing ideas

If I need the extra room, the best solution I've found is a set of GIVI E41s on the sides and an E52 on the tail, YMMV.

    New Knee for Christmas

Hope yours works out as well for you as mine has for me. Only downside is I can't kneel on it, but couldn't beforehand so no great loss. Good physical therapy as soon as possible will help enormously with regaining range of motion. This and hip replacements have become so commonplace that one...
