Radiohowie is BACK after 2 months gone!

Glad to hear you're still working at recovery, hope you are successful. Sounds like, from the extent of your injuries, you're lucky they aren't shoveling dirt on you. Sorry you'll have to give riding up and I hope you find something equally satisfying to take its place. Don't be a stranger here.

Blacksburg, VA to Deals Gap and Everywhere BTW

I'd check to make sure it's open before you start - the last time I rode the Dragon, I noticed the barrier gate where Parson's Branch empties onto 129 was closed.

Blacksburg, VA to Deals Gap and Everywhere BTW

From 321 to the loop is where it really gets congested and slow. My first time there (late 90s), I rode the loop half way on a fully loaded Wing and took Parson's Branch Rd. down to 129 - never again. NOT a viable shortcut on a fully loaded Wing.

Blacksburg, VA to Deals Gap and Everywhere BTW

Glad you enjoyed the BRP, my favorite ride. If you rode through Cades Cove, I hope the car traffic wasn't too bad that day for you. I've seen it bumper to bumper and crawling in there. Nice photos, thanks for sharing.

What to do with our "riding gear" while we are in the museum?

Helmet Guardians mounted under the topbox for my helmet. Honda uses this method on the Wings and I've always found it convenient, so I adopted it for the feej and the GSX1100G. Riding suit and gloves either go in the topbox or I carry them with me.

Advise me for a good Torque Wrench

Snap On, SK Wayne, and Craftsman all make good torque wrenches. My SKs are graduated in both lb. feet and Newton meters. Any torque wrench is only as good as its most recent calibration, good to remember if you're planning a lot of use for your wrenches.

Experienced a Little Glimpse of Mortality Today...

Glad to hear you weren't seriously injured or worse. Hope this is your last experience of this type.

What's the Weather like where YOU are today?

Beautiful here, mid 70s and low humidity. Did a 100 mile loop of all back roads. Coming into Wolfsville, MD, you can go in any direction and be in some nice riding.

    What's in your tool kit?

I've had excellent service from Only a little bigger than a ballpoint pen, great illumination for its size and good battery life. It's small and light enough that I carry one in my shirt pocket all the time, with a small tire gauge.

A Rough week for man & beast

**** always happens when you least want it to. Sorry to hear of your mishaps (both of you) and hope you both recover quickly. The squirrels will miss Duchess, I'm sure.

    Hard down shifting...clutch circuit issue?

Fifth to fourth downshift on my '07 has always been stubborn, especially when cold. I just got in the habit of pulling in the clutch, blipping the throttle, and downshifting. Makes the downshift much easier on mine.

    Fork Seal & Bushing Replacement

I used an air die grinder to knock down that weld bead, first with a round stone, then polished with a flap wheel. If the trigger is tied down with a large rubber band, a small die grinder will go a good way through 2" exhaust tubing.
