    Thug's New Toy

Hmmmm. So that's what a clean FJR looks like. Now go out and get some road grime on her, you're making me look bad.

    Drive Shaft Lubrication - Krytox?

Hey now. It may be small but it sure is short. I can give her ten inches and make it hurt. All I have to do, is do it five times and hit her with a brick.

BustanutJoker and wood in the same sentence. EEEwwwww, now I've got to live with that disturbing mental picture. But the design on the tree substance looks good.

This is shaping up to be quite the gathering. Thanks to everyone who worked on putting it together :good:

    Hard Wired Garage Door Opener

Could also break one of the wires to the switch with relay contacts. The coil of which is energized by a circuit on the bike that is switched power. Or if you're like me and ATGATT, just put the opener in your jacket pocket. Sometimes the best solutions are the easy ones.

    Drive Shaft Lubrication - Krytox?

I bought the Krytox after reading about on the forum. IIRC it was about $50 for a two ounce tube shipped from McMaster-Carr. I did the shaft and the rear wheel drive. Only put on 700 miles since. Other than the extra 40 horsepower and 125 mpg, I haven't noticed any difference. I plan on taking...

    A Day With Old Michael

IIRC my '81 Yamaha Seca 750 had self cancelling turn signals. Guess that old school tech. wasn't good enough for the FJR. They oughta be standard on every bike.

    Is The 'AE'....

I can see the benefits of a clutch less bike. Like if you ride in a lot of stop and go traffic. Should I be disabled or reach the age of needing one, I'd take it over not being able to ride. My guess is the sales volume just hasn't been high enough to justify its existence. As for the DN01, I...

    First performance farkles done!

My son has been riding his own bike since he was three. It's been great, given him extra confidence. Now he's almost sixteen and laps me when we race hare scrambles together. But we still get some good time together. Because of his playing soccer, riding bicycles, paint balling, etc. he's way...

    Rubber gromit around windshield track

I would assume the stuff that comes in a tube. If you want to stick someting together forever, there is a product called ChemCaulk. It's a urethane caulk available from Fastenal and places like it. You will probably destroy the structure before it lets lose. It's impervious to just about...

    Need a Job

From what I've seen, the industry is short on qualified technicians. It's a tough job that takes a good education and a decent brain. But like the auto industry, mechanics are still thought of as high school drop out, grease monkeys. Todays systems are varied and complex, it takes skill to work...

    College Exam

When I was in high school, a group of friends tried the flat tire excuse. The teacher seperated them and asked the question. One kid was so nervous, he said "the spare".

    2010 - Any information yet?

I saw a FZ6 with saddle bags on e-bay (in blue). My son said "look, a mini FJR". Add a lower fairing and electric windshield, it could be. 'Cept it looks cooler with the underseat exhaust. Be great for those that can't handle the weight of the 1300.
