Do you always wear a helmet?

Ummmm -- actually, wasn't really trying to take sides on this -- You said "There is NO evidence... " --- I thought this might, in fact, be true. That would make this one of those neat instances when the conventional wisdom turns out to be wrong --- so I went and looked to see if I could find...

    I can't stand it anymore!!!

Don B - welcome to the fun, one new guy to another. About the IP tracking - suffice it to say that there was a chap (downn2) who was determined to be just a wee bit of a troll, stirring up trouble just 'cause. ... Here's the relevant BMW thread...

    Defensive Driving Test

21.45 - but it seems to be running the same pattern every time - which misses a key element of cager behavior. Need to give the bad guys cellphones so they randomly twitch and change directions...

Do you always wear a helmet?

If I can paraphrase Sparky's argument, it is that "the cost of long-term care is the same, given the same injury" - all the helmet does is change the speed at which the injury occurs. This seemed plausible enough to be worth checking out (I love it when the 'obvious answer' is wrong) So ... A...

anti lane splitting comments on the radio

Agree with being pissed, but from Budman's comments (see the edits he made to the first post in the BARF thread) it appears as if some of our folks may have gone a bit over the top in there replies - e.g. threats of bodily harm to the DJ. Unfortunately, Woody's over the top "my pet peeve"...

anti lane splitting comments on the radio

For those who haven't been following the play-by-play on "BARF" - it seems that they're still feeling the heat at 105 Live. "Budman," the forum admin (I think) posted this notice from the offending DJ at about noon today (PST): (I'd send the link to his post, but I don't know how to ref...

He shoulda been riding a FJR!!!!!!

    Testament to Modern Medicine

SpeedFreak - Didn't intend to question whether your sister was a nurse, etc. It's just that in my reading of your first follow-up post You seemed to be implying that this happened at the hospital where your sister worked. Otheres seem to have made the same mistake. This looked like a...

Whats The secret to cold wet weather clear vision.

The film causes any water that condenses on it to spread out into a single clear layer, instead of individual droplets (fogging). Airflow over the film isn't required. The film can be very tricky to get on - my dealer (Renton Motorcycles in Seattle) was happy (even insistent) to do the...

Whats The secret to cold wet weather clear vision.

+1 from Seattle for the FogCity (Proshield) liners Dealer installed the clear sheet on my visor ~2 months ago - haven't had any problems with fog since. Only drawback is some minor 'starring' of headlights, etc. at night. Pinlock system also looks interesting - if it fits your helmet.

    Testament to Modern Medicine

Snopes sez - The photo is apparently genuine, but the explanation (and outcome) may have been 'improved' over time... https://www.snopes.com/photos/gruesome/splinter.asp SpeadFreak - when did your sister say this happened?? The photo's been circulating since at least 2004

    Dead Battery

I had this happen to me a few weeks ago - left the keys in the bike, in the "acc" position, for about 3 weeks (in my garage) and ended up with a dead, DEAD battery - no instruments, no headlights, not even the ***** ights - nothing. Having "an advanced degree from a major university" - (in...

    LASIK

Randy, I'm just an FNG around here, but I'd strongly recommend you check out this site, https://www.surgicaleyes.org/ before going through with a LASIK procedure. The site is an information source for those considering LASIK and a resouce for those with "negative outcomes" who are trying to...

    Preety cool ad

I stand corrected - two takes, spliced together at about the 1 min mark, 606 takes total. Ouch As markjenn says, one take or two, its still impressive as hell.

    Preety cool ad

A bit of googling found this: https://www.opinion.telegraph.co.uk/news/ma...3/04/13/ix.html It's not two takes spliced together - it's all one take - Take _606_ - from the article: might be fun the first two or three hundred takes, but ...

    Givi Top Case

Does anyone have the internal dimensions of the Givi v46 and/or E52 cases? specifically, can I get my laptop (15"x11") or laptop case (17.5x15) in the case? Looked at Yamaha's site for the OEM version, but they only list the volume of the case, not the dimensions. Also, any dealers in the...
