Looks like Manzinita skeletons off Hwy 49 north of Mariposa a couple years following the first YFO. Remember there was a  big fire just a couple weeks after YFO. Sadly I see way too much of the white skeletons, take 2-3 years after a hot fire to really stand out. Large oaks will turn the same color

Real nice Ray. I hear you on the smoke, today was our worst day yet. Good thing I only rode the S10 on a pre NAFO shakedown 185 miles. Up 49 and back via Truckee. The thickest smoke was at home. Damn the torpedoes, full speed ahead Kevin!

Love the Darkside. Went dark on my 08 Wing after the first MC tire was toast and now my 18 Wing is Dark.

No, however a few years back a pack of loud as hell Hardley Ablesons thought they could get ahead of my Wing. They were wrong.

FYI Can you ride it on a Saturday?   Reason being is we recently Drove I 5 from Red Bluff to above Roseburg on a Saturday. Construction was halted for the weekend and traffic was not too bad and not many trucks. Drove back home on a Tuesday and it SUCKED!  Construction had two major slowdowns...

I don't live anywhere near LA (on purpose) but it's much like most large cities as it's all a crap shoot on how many traffic problems there are when you are there. I suspect the later in the evening the better, a phone app such as waze would be helpful if you can. As far as lane splitting goes...

FJR?  From what I have been told even my KLR would struggle to get there due to all the loose rocks, baby heads etc. I haven't been there so this is just from a guy I know who has on his Husky. Perhaps a 4x4 may be the better choice. If you get there please report back on road conditions.
