    2009 Slave Cylinder on a 2008

Not quite, the clutch will begin engaging sooner as the clutch lever is released, or closer to the grip. And I presume you are talking about just the mod to the Gen I slave cylinder, and nothing else, right?

    2009 Slave Cylinder on a 2008

ELP, The slave from the Gen I bikes is about 3mm greater in diameter that the Gen II, so with more surface area on the piston there is less effort to produce the force, albiet there is also less travel. But you probably already knew this. So ya the take up distance from the grip is a little...

    2009 Slave Cylinder on a 2008

I also did the GenI slave cylinder swap on my 07'. One other change I made was a stainless clutch line from Bike effects, it tightend it up as well, call Capt. Jeff! Much happier! Also piazzo levers help, IMO, also at Bike Effects.

FJR - BMW Sport Touring Shootout

My last sport tourer was a BMW K1200RS an 02' it was a pretty good bike but not to the level of my FJR. It had power brakes that I never got used to, and I really didn't like the paralever front end, too much mass to follow the small bumps. It had a sixth gear, while many think that is superior...

    The Ultimate Farkle!

Totally cool! My wife gets me some real cool gifts too, like socks. Man, nothing like 3 pairs of brown dress socks. Or better yet, a ugly ******* sweater, and you think a bitching motorcycle stand is the way to go? Anyway, does anybody have a link to that stand, I'll get it on my own?

    Computer MPG vs Actual MPG

One thing to consider is that your new FJR is no where near being "broken in", and the milage should improve along with the performance. My opinion.....

    Oh Crap!

Perfect justification to get another bike!

    25-30 MPH FJR crash

You are really not out that bad. Now you have a reason to get a new set of cans and a new side case cover. If you turn it into insurance, even with the deductible you will proabably be ahead if you go with after market cans.

    Did anyone else notice

Supposedly there were around 160 to 180 FJR's, at one place, at one time. That's got to be near the record, doesn't it?

    Did anyone else notice

I too was suprised that Yamaha failed to show up, in any way, shape, or form. Just think of the marketing response if they hinted at maybe a Gen III type of bike? Total ********! Not surprised at Remus, they ran out at WFO-6 Park City too, waited almost 2 months for them to get me the product...

    oil site glass

I use a long filter too and I usually end up with about 4 1/2 quarts before the level is where it needs to be. Don't worrt about it.

ecu recall and mpg change on 2007

I was getting about 45+/-2 and after the ECU change I am now getting about 47+/-2, so I see very little change.

    Steering Head roller bearings better?

I replaced mine with the tapered roller bearing set from All Balls. Were the original ball set worn out, nope, only had around 5000 miles on them. I can only imagine that they were as good as new. I was suprised that they had a fair amount of grease on them as usually Yamaha barely uses any...

    IT'S ALIVE!!!

Ya might think about changing the oil after 50 miles or so just in case any debris got in the case while it was apart. Just a thought?

They do exist ! Fender Eliminator & Hugger

Very Nice 1815! I'm definately doing the hugger and under fender, the exhaust shields are already on the way! Couple of questions; Whats the hugger made out of, is it pretty stout? Do the foot shields give too much protection when it's hot outside, I mean do your feet seem to get hot? Are...
