Wow, I didn't realize we had such a growing group of Utah contingent. And Robin is making his own beer, Hmmm. ;)

    You asked.... Registration info for

Hey Dawwwg, Do you know what kind of riding gear is required? Can you use any kind of riding suit and boots or is something specifically called out?

We got literally 2 feet of snow at our place yesterday, in Sandy. I have this pristine FJR with newly rebuilt forks from GP and unless someone makes chains for it, I'm screwed for now.

    GP Suspension Comment Thread

I'll tell another thing that I thought was impressive; the fast turn around. I used the tracking number to ensure that my forks arrived and I think my forks were only there 2 maybe 3 days and back out. Alot faster than I was expecting. The other cool thing was that I was sent back the parts...

Does regular gas burn faster than Supreme

I'll run against the grain on this, just a little..... While the spark from the plug initiates the combustion process, the reflective raise in pressure and thus heat associates to the rest of the combustion process. At the higher altitudes the normal grades of that usually lower in octane...

Carver, No where in your report did you mention that you used bad language or alcohol, thus the problem is........ :yahoo:

    FJRTom's Farkled 2008

Ya Tom, I had to remove some of the left side panels to install it but I have never taken it out since I put it in. If I used the XM in my plane I would probably get in a little trouble  with the company. LOL And I didn't want to come across that it looked bad where it is, my...

I'll bet you're glad to have your bike back! What did SouthValley eventually hit you up for and did they do a good job? Can't wait to see, and hear, the Muzzy system. Did you get the text I sent you the other day about NAFO?

    FJRTom's Farkled 2008

Tom, The bike looks great! I have the same Zumo and Garmin XM antenna on my bike as well. I was able to put the antenna under the fairing just behind the glove box on the left hand side. Reception is just as good and it stays out of sight. Let me know if you need any more details. Robin, good...

    steering head and swingarm grease

I kind of think the opposite is true in that the swingarm would be more difficult. With the swing arm it would require the entire rear wheel assembly/case and shock removal to get at, however, you may be able to get around the shock. Not sure. The steering stem is not too bad and there are a...

    World's Nicest Beaver!

Hauled boxes in a DHC-6, Twin Otter, many years ago. Great airplane, but kinda slow. The standing joke was that it was the only turbine powered twin certified for bird strikes from the rear!

Cherry (read Feejer) went to the clinic for an operation.

Germany, I have a new penske shock also that I got torwards the end of the season last September, mine looks a little different, I can't remember the model number but it's the triple clicker. I got bounced out of my seat too when the shock was brand new, but after 300 miles or so it seems to be...

Cherry (read Feejer) went to the clinic for an operation.

Did you have the forks done and the shock replaced, or just the front? I just finished installing my forks last night that I got back from GP, as soon as the snow is of the streets I'll give it a try. My 07' has about 6500 miles and Ben from GP had to replace a set of bushings and seals, as...

Is there a link to all of the XM stations, some of the comedy ones I have never even heard of.

The 'Most Ridiculously Priced Part' Thread

There's some truth to that, I ordered a R-1 shift arm for my FJR to reduce the shift lever movement. I also ordered a clutch slave cylinder to reduce clutch lever effort. Small machined arm with bolt (about 2" long), $76.00 Much larger machined and painted slave cylinder with actuating piston...

    Decision Pending

I guess mine is a position of fortunate immaturity. I've always loved my motorcycles but one rung up were aircraft. I still love flying but every now and then it is a pain in the *** job, sometimes. Missing kid events, delays, bad weather, pissed off passengers, the ***** TSA militia. My...

    Forks and Wilbers shock

I got my call today from (I think) Ben from GP Suspensions, my forks were complete and will ship soon. I already have a Penske shock that I got from GP last summer. The bushings in my forks were bad enough that they had to be replaced as well as the dust seals. Hopefully the components that are...

Installation Notes for 8983 Penske Install

I installed a Penske 8983 torwards the end of last season, love it so far. It did "loosen up", if you will, after about 300 miles. I would advise to allow it to break in before you go into any huge adjustment activities.
