    ABS? Grab a Handful!

You are taking your on-line life into your hands as the pro-ABS goon squad will soon arrive to bash you into submission. :) How dare you.

    MUZZY Slip-ons

    Never mind.

    My apologies to everyone here

Who is Fred and when did he go missing? I wouldn't notice because I spend very little time here. You guys are a bunch of babies.... unlike those who populate boards of other bikes I've owned. :yahoo: But, you are a good source of information.

    What saved us yesterday

I had a somewhat similar incident last week. I don't know what in hell these idiots are thinking-- often in pickup trucks-- who drive down the centerline so they can what? Keep from steering the vehicle? Go faster in their overweight pigs through the curves? Completely baffling considering the...

    Not liking The FJR Sound

IIRC, I pointed at the words, but no response. Perhaps an inaccurate pointing by me. I am so sorry. ;)

    Not liking The FJR Sound

Same with me; I like the sound of the FJR. Of all the things I've nitpicked over with the bike, the sound is not one of them. It is quiet, has some intake noise for the rider to enjoy, but is stealthy. Also, Kissimmee, the bike gets a bit noiser in the exhaust as the miles increase. Mine makes...

Caught in a sandstorm. Need your advice.

Well, my bike's windshield and headlight are completey hazed and pitted, respectively.... and I never went through a dust storm. I just think Yamaha cut a lot of corners on surfaces on this bike. The paint job is terrible with almost no clearcoat and judging from the orange peel on some parts...

How many people have met other FJR riders in person?

I select my riding partners according to the character of the person, not according to their choice of ride. I get nearly all the riding companions I have time for locally. I would not mind meeting other FJR owners as I've done with my other bike; I've met and ridden with lots of them!

    Would you ABS again?

 Uh huh. I'm sure that's a revelation to some. (See above.)

    Good Riddance to my FJR

I thought for sure he was going to buy a six year old Aprilia Futura. YMMV. IMO, my FJR was not close to breaking in until after 10k miles. It's finally getting past the annoying I4 buzz. YMMV.

Almost 20000 miles and feels broken in

Of course, I can't judge until it hits 70k or so miles... the FJR has to hold up as well as other bikes I've owned. I think it will...

Almost 20000 miles and feels broken in

Yup. Don't judge your FJR until it racks up some miles. It gets better and better.

    Would you ABS again?

Whoever it was that crashed his FJR because he was looking in the mirrors should post that over in the FJR crash thread because that's a new way to bust your chops. Very funny I'll bet.

    Would you ABS again?

Now we're getting to the point: any motorcycle that is 200 pounds heavier than it should be should have ABS, especially on the rear. BMW introduced ABS in what, 1985?, and Yamaha copied it in the late '00's or so. Motorcycle deaths and injuries have increased as ABS has become standard. The...

    Would you ABS again?

I always like those stories. But since the '06 has ABS, I wonder why so many have crashed on them? Including me. ABS didn't seem to help.

Trailer Suggestion for a Ford Fusion?

Both Trailer Boats and Trailer Life magazines publish annual car by car listings regarding towing and the all-important footnoted requirements. You might try looking at their web sites for the info. The FJR alone is 650. Personally, I'd look into renting a bike at the other end... or rent a...

Trailer Suggestion for a Ford Fusion?

Better check the tow rating, if any, for that vehicle. Unibodies are not noted for being tow capable, and the brakes might not be up to the task either especially since you will have some mountain towing. It'd be a shame to have you and the Fusion sandwiched between an immovabale object and your...

    New or used?

Yeah, everybody knows it's 140 more hp. ;) CabonMonoxideDan, I rejected the genI every time I looked at it, but bought the genII as soon as it came out. YMMV.
