New Comfort Seat on Yamaha Site

For about the same price as the comfort seat, Sargent reworked my seat(s) to my and my passenger's specifications. Only thing is... you still have only one (2-part) seat. Oh, and Sargent took just short of FOREVER to do the work, running over the turn-around time claimed on their web site...

New Comfort Seat on Yamaha Site

Link? EDIT: https://www.yamaha-motor.com/sport/accessor...5/0/detail.aspx That seat would not help my passenger. Her section of the seat is still dished out and would be just as uncomfy as the stocker which hurt her tailbone a la cruiser seating.

    Advice on magazines

Seems like only a good place to advertise a bikini cover. ;) Oh one more magazine you might consider is Friction Zone. If you're not familiar, it is a free mag, safety and touring oriented, found in bike shops, published monthly in an Eastern version and a western version. Maybe someone...

    Advice on magazines

I've had one of your Defender covers, size XL and it fits both of my bikes with the bags on. I've had it for about six years now and highly recommend it. Nicely done. Ad-accepting magazines I subscribe to: Cycle World Motorcyclist Rider AMA magazine Once in a while I'll buy a SportRider at...

    Mature Riders and FJR's

Ok, it's firmly established, then, that we are a bunch of comfort seeking geezers. :dribble: That's one side of the coin. The other is that any 18 year old can see that the FJR just ain't gonna make it when it comes to sport-bike duty... both from the impress the young ladies aspect and the...

    Spare Key(s) While Touring

The very best way to make sure you lose your key is to carry a spare. The human brain can only keep track of one vital item of a category at a time. This has been verified by experiments conducted at the University of Hardknocks.

Sargent Seat photos for 2006-2007 FJR

I'm curious how long it took Sargent to process your order. I sent my seat Feb. 5; it arrived at Sargent Feb. 9. Just yesterday, April 3, I got an e-mail saying my seat would be shipped back to me that day. That's seven full weeks. Seems slow and seems slower than the predicted 3 to 4 weeks...

    G2 Ergo Install

You will eventually notice that the rapid input of throttle has merely moved to a range futher into the throttle rotation where it is far less likely to cause an unanticipated problem or to feel like you have to be VERY careful if you want to be smooth. The thing is great, IMHO. If you don't...

What's in your little left hand cubbyhole ?

I suppose that's where this guy is coming from: First offer them candy. If that doesn't work, fill 'em with holes. :D

What's in your little left hand cubbyhole ?

Air. That's all. Looking for good suggestions here.... Would put my cell phone in there to charge on a long trip. Does the socket fit the typical cell phone auto charger plug?

'06 FJR linked brakes must be OK

I am not a fan of linked brakes; never have been, never will be. The handlebar lever does the front, the foot pedal the rear. That is the standard set up and it ought not-- IMO-- be amended or deviated from. However, the way Yamaha has linked the latest was acceptable to me or I would not have...

    She goes down...

If you look at the '06 BOF, you will find the number of a Duplicolor paint that will match. Mine got scraped. I cleaned the tar off it, filed it a bit with a fine ******* file, sanded a bit, cut a circle out of a piece of cardboard to mask it, "silver" then clear... plenty good enough. The...

    wiped out today.

I'm in a rush and have not read the rest of the thread, but... Have you addressed the initial throttle tip-in issues that have been a recurring question about the '06's?

    Screen up = more heat

Same for me. Screen down unless there's a pretty good reason to raise it. It's real nice when it's cold or there's a headwind.

    78,000 Mile Valve Adjust

You hear more and more about this sort of reliability. 65k miles on my Aprilia and never an adjustment. Once an engine goes through its initial settling in, only serious deterioration of valve seats or cam/cam bucket surface is going to result in any change.
