    The FJR as a sportbike

Oh, I think my statements in the original post were pretty clear; it just didn't set well with some people. :P

    The FJR as a sportbike

To point out something that would normally be obvious, which clearly isn't obvious and before it becomes painfully obvious. The responses show it to be poorly understood. Comments like "it isn't the bike, it's the rider" are going to get people in trouble. It is the bike. I've seen tales of...

A gift for all of you stuck in the frozen north

You can find a paint match in the '06 Bin-o-facts for the alternator cover. The muffler is stainless, so a bit of work with a fine file, then progressively and carefully applied (so as to not make it worse) abrasives will take the scratch out of the muffler. You now are responsible for finding...

    The FJR as a sportbike

I'm left wondering if FJR owners would admit that there are better dirt bikes than the FJR? Seems like my original post was taken as a personal affront.... or perhaps a complete comparison wherein the FJR lost. Little wonder others' past posts sarcastically referred the the FJR as God's gift to...

    The FJR as a sportbike

FJR... the choice of demigods everywhere... Quick, someone call the Moto-GP teams and tell them they have it all wrong. Heavier bikes are faster through corners. And now, this just in: FJR's top out at 180 mph!

    The FJR as a sportbike

Recently, I rode with a friend who was on an Aprilia Futura, which is the same as my other bike. I always knew the FJR was no match for the RST as a sporting bike, but riding along side the Futura put the comparison in stark contrast. Sport-tourer vs sport-tourer. The longer wheel base of the...

    FJR Tank Sticker

Golf club grip solvent? Does the label say it's intended for use on painted surfaces? I doubt it. Sticker removal-- as pointed out-- is such a common topic that a search will certainly give results. What surprises me, though, is that every time the topic comes up, destructive suggestions are...

    "FJR market is drying up"

Drying up? Well... I do not see the polls and threads of anticipation that were evident in past years.

The ST market and the FJR

Two sides of a coin that define the discussion: " Well, there are those who believe that sport-touring is more an activity than a style of motorcycle..." And: "It is not how you ride it. It is what the bike was designed for." Verb or noun? Shrug.

The ST market and the FJR

Well, there are those who believe that sport-touring is more an activity that a style of motorcycle, so I'll assume that this thread is actually about motorcycles with hard bags included from the factory? So, sould we include various iterations of H-D's FL series? How about the Goldwing? If you...

    Buying in 1 Week...

+2 on that! I'd only buy the blue if you can negotiate a price that accounts for the depreciation.... otherwise, get the cherry. Dare to be different. ;)

    07 Throttle Response

Me neither... a hand wind guard might me nice at my more usual northern location.

    07 Throttle Response

Boy, it didn't take long for those words to arise. Metcalf, just negotiate a $59 plus shipping reduction in the price you pay and order a G2. The bike still abruptly transitions from full OFF (zero gas to the injectors) to just barely ON-- like every FI bike on the market I know of--...

2008 FJR1300 - Dear Yamaha, this is what we want.

I dunno. Yesterday I wanted another gear, but today after riding the bike all day both days now I'm not so sure. And, I even sorta like it! I guess I just feel better after slappin' the ****** down. :P

2008 FJR1300 - Dear Yamaha, this is what we want.

Well, if we really were going to get significant changes for '08-- which we are NOT-- I would like the bike to have a six speed. As it is, the FJR has likely been eclipsed by the Kaw C14... which I *might* move to, but more likely is that I've relearned my lesson about J-bikes and will next buy...

    The cure

Sprint St always has a lot to say, doesn't he? One guy says get a piece of copper wire because it costs less than the G2... next guy says blah blah blah.... PCIII... My vote: try the G2, and that's only because it worked for me. And, no, Yamaha ought not to have released the bike with 150...

    Motorcycle.com 2006 review of Sport-Touring Bikes

I've never been able to understand the complaint about the auto-retract. I usually ride with the shield all the way down anyway and DOWN is the position I want it in for safety's sake when I return and ride off. YMMV... but who cares? After all, I got what I want. :yahoo:

    Knucklehead drivers

    >>I got about ten feet between me and the car in front....so what does this broad think shes gonna do? Yep, she starts to crank her blue bomb from the turn only lane into my lane in front of me. I scoot up about five feet so she can slip in behind me when the light changes. Nope she wants...

Does this result in lower accident rates or any other discernable benefit?
