    X-Mas for me in April

I have a similar set up, different type but same principle. I find the "Mojolever" makes all the difference. The tire rolls on and off the rim with hardly any effort at all and no metal touches the rim. Tire lube is essential, both on removal and installation. A homemade tire balancer is all...

    Long Ride Comfort

The beads are slippery when new, but as they get rolled against each other many times, the shiny coating wears off and they get a dull finish that is not slippery at all. They need to be exposed to rain, sun and many many fun miles.

    Slow tire leak

No Problem, Just always ride with a buddy who has an air compressor.

    What was I thinking?

I use one of the trip odometers as my oil change reminder. It doesn't forget like my feeble mind does.

    Fatter Grips??

How about some Dual Star heated grips with the Heat Troller control and factory grips with Grip Puppies over them? Pretty cheap set up and works great.

    Fatter Grips??

I've had Grip Puppies since new and love them. They are cheap, easy to install, absorb vibration, work well with grip warmers and the chicks really dig them. Well ok, 4 out of 5 ain't bad.

    bike to bike communication question

I agree with SKL50. garbage in = garbage out. The whole point of him getting a b to b system is so that he can stay in contact with his wife. Tell her to take exit 25, you need gas or lunch, I have a flat tire, do you want to stop at the worlds largest hairball etc etc. If you can't hear...

    Auxiliary Cell Design

Nice job Joe! Well thought out design and nice workmanship. If I'm allowed a vote for colour, I would do blue anodizing (to match your bike) or any colour that other people may like. It's inexpensive if you can slip it into a batch of anodizing from work (wink wink).

    Shell Rotella Oil in Canada/USA

I've been buying mine at TSC in the ~20L pails. When it's on sale it's about $55.00/pail. Cheaper oil = more frequent changes. I've been using the 15w-40.

Radar Detector - Helmet Heads up display

I have a buddy with the HARD system. The led light is very bright and noticeable esp at night. It's completely wireless to the helmet and is small enough to be hidden in the cheek pad. The big downside is the battery life. It was getting maybe 40 hours of use instead of the 120 it's...

    The 1926 "Snow-Motor"

That is one of the coolest things I've seen. Imagine modernizing that propulsion system to be used in ice rescue. Somethng like an Argo but with that screw drive instead of wheels. It can drive on land, ice and water. Probably scoot pretty good in the water.

A Question for the Electrical Smarties

That's the answer I was looking for. So my mp3 player, cell phone and net book are all safe. But my ac powered disco ball isn't.

A Question for the Electrical Smarties

bring 2 of them because you will definitely forget one in the motel room (not that I have ever done that)
