How rusty.?? Like need a wire brush to remove? Or wipes away with a little pressure? Bike not stored with a full tank over many winters. Doubt there is a rust hole but top of tank may be rusty and you can't see it. Doubt bottom rusted but might see something down there with a good flash...

I have no issues with linked brakes on my Silver Wing scooter.. Yeah scooter. Its heavy at 550 lbs and only has a single front disc. Doesn't stop like an FJR but has good brakes. Its my hot weather toy all heat vents under or out the back. 565 miles in the last 2 days.

I don't think Honda uses shim under bucket for valves . Uni-cam or something. Shim over top of bucket. Should be easier after valve cover removed. Looks like cam removal a must to change shims but its only 1 .

125 That part under 81 is rough but its straight for 1 mile at least. I don't ride that part. Turn after Pine Grove Left at Ravine. Go under 81 to the top. Cross 209 and that brings you to the end of rough section. Its much better. Road conditions change with the weather. Big hills stuff...

Try some ear plugs if wind noise is to much. You won't regret it. Tall shields tend to put a lot of pressure on the back of helmet. its quiet but gives me a sore neck.

PA. 125 is a good road as far as turns and hills. Road surface varies. Some of it has been resurfaced in last few years it was worse. 78 --501- 125 to Shamokin goes over 5 mountains and is a fun ride. I ride it a few times a year mostly south to north.

Doesn't sound like a TPS problem.. I had a bad one didn't do that, just a mis stumble opening throttle. I would bet on a large vacuum leak. If it was fast idle valve it would idle when hot off base setting. The idle screw.

What happens when you start it cold? Idles 1500-1800 ? Then slowly drops? Is it higher -lower ? Turning idle screw opens throttle plates. Any air passing plates will raise idle speed. Need more info.
