Pretty sure mine is in my attic. If you still need it just PM me your address.

    tire balance

Fred, the reason you never hear about racers using these magic beads is because...It's a Secret. I don't want to get too technical here 'cause you probably wouldn't understand. See what happens is a Race Bike tire is spinning really, really fast. Like a LOT faster than a regular motorcycle...

    Pilot Road 5s

Of course we are all ignoring the fact that we are running the standard Road 5 because there is no GT version as of yet. We will probably all die a fiery aluminum and plastic death due to using the inferior standard version. Edit: BTW, your thread title is Wrong. No "Pilot" in the name...

Which ADV Tourer? BMW GSA vs Super Tenere?

A decent review I think. One thing I think about when reading almost every motorcycle comparison is how the scores might change if the same group had to test the same bikes after all of them had some age and mileage on them.

    Pilot Road 5s

I only have a few hundred miles on my Road 5s. They only go to work. And back home. And to work. And back home.

    DR650S, AKA Big Suzy

That Big Red was bought new in 1984 and has been in continuous service ever since. Pop put down a deposit and got on a waiting list to get that thing. That was the first shaft driven and reverse equipped 3-wheeler to hit the market. Pop uses that thing all the time. My son prefers it to my...

    DR650S, AKA Big Suzy

Fred you could fit on this 250. It's actually pretty big for a 250. Not much horsepower but it pulls like a little tractor. I think the fuel injection helps. I have been hemorrhaging money into these damned Dual Sports at a frightening rate. My God, I only thought an FJR was a big...

    Good news, bad news ...

I keep telling my Pop how fortunate he is to have me around but he seems to disagree with me. I am sure there were enough interesting things there to see that you were entertained to some degree.

Two Week Bucket Trip Out West - Preventive Maintenance Suggestions Requested!

You did not mention how many miles are on your FJR so we don't know where you are as far as valve checks and brakes. Honestly you can do as much or as little maintenance as you like. Do what gives you that "I did everything right so I know it won't break down" feeling of confidence. Fresh...

    SR357 for an '05

No you are not. The Givi SR357 fits '06 to present. There is another part number for the '03 to '05 FJR. Edit: I am not being mean, I just don't know what that part number is.

    Gen 2 , Gen 3 Saddlebag Question.

I am agreeing with your last sentence. What is wrong with you? The OP asked a question about an FJR saddlebag. He is wanting to make a change and requested information. A few of us supplied that information. This is an FJR forum which is THE source for information. The saddlebag...

    SFO 2018 - September 27th-30th

I remember an All Star Cast for the ride back to the hotel. I had you, Festar and 0Face along with Pop as a co-pilot. That was a lot of FJR Awesomeness in the cab of Pop's GMC. I was honored to be a chauffeur.

    Gen 2 , Gen 3 Saddlebag Question.

Just making sure you are aware, the "chrome" is actually a chrome covered piece of plastic that feels metal unless you lay the bike over and slide it down the road: Don't do that if you can help it. The black insert is actually soft rubber. No way to make that glossy. I ordered the black...

    SFO 2018 - September 27th-30th

Pop and I have reservations at the Peach Queen Campground very close to SFO headquarters. The Plan is to drag my little toy hauler up there with our new Dual Sports tucked into the back. I will have my truck to do some supplemental Tipsy Taxi work as long as the passengers don't mind that the...

    Gen 2 , Gen 3 Saddlebag Question.

Fred, that's just Crazy Talk. Why would anyone want to do that? Seriously, on the Red '14 I think the chrome looks perfect. On the ***-Fault Gray '15 the chrome is...iffy. In my case the ES with its blacked out forks and the subtle black touches I have added really needed to lose the...

    Gen 2 , Gen 3 Saddlebag Question.

The man with the unbelievably clean FJR speaks the truth. There are 3, very small allen head screws. And yes, they do go all the way through from the inside of the lid.
  17. Redfish Hunter

    Gen 2 , Gen 3 Saddlebag Question.

The difference is that the chrome Gen3 strip has tiny allen screws going through the inside of the lid holding the chrome strip in place. The earlier black rubber strips glue in place. Another difference is that the little $9 Yamaha sticker usually remains stuck to the black rubber piece but...

Too Many Bikes With Too Few Miles

All good points. Bikes are better now than they ever were, they last longer and run better. Those of us that actually ride our bikes are in the minority, other than the folks I met through this forum I never personally met anyone the even knew what a Saddlesore 1K was. Regarding FJR prices...

    Road 5 GT news

I just installed the regular Road 5s on my FJR. I have 34 miles on them, I hope I don't die a fiery plastic and aluminum death because I am not running the GTs. Thanks for the information though, I was/am curious about when Michelin would release them.
