That platr you have onyour bike came from Premiere Cycles no it does not have to be modified it is made to accept a Givi box. Check out their web site, they are in Ohio and great people to do business with. I have one on my bike. Made of Aluminum.

Attention!! I have a corbin and they are wide also. If you order a new one from corbin get all your specs that you need as to where you are going to alter the seat and discuss with them. They are a little spendy for trial and error. If you could do a ride in that would be your best option...

You should be able to get 12000 thousands miles out of your Syn. oil. I run SYN in mine 05 change around 10 and 12 thousands. Not a problem
