    Not starting! Mystery

Did you take a picture of the offending O-ring for future reference for others?

I am wondering where in AZ he is? He can always come by mi casa. I can loan him an '04 tank with an operating fuel pump just in case he wants to eliminate any other possibility.

    Not starting! Mystery

Here's a thread from one of the other sandboxes. It details the issue with the Gen I return line O-ring. Also has some photos of the FJR fuel pump. https://www.fjrowners.com/threads/fuel-leak.153544/#replies

    Not starting! Mystery

Interesting. What year? Gen I fuel pumps have a return line that does have a small O-ring within the fuel pump that ages and goes bad. I replaced one once as have others. But I think when that O-ring goes bad the FJR still runs but that it causes a leak on the return line fitting at the...

    Not starting! Mystery

That is odd what the dealer said about it not being seated correctly and fuel pressure to low. That just doesn't make sense to me. That diagram you posted obviously is not an FJR fuel pump. FJR's looks different. I am not sure if it even has that sealing rubber. Very rare, but I have seen...

    Not starting! Mystery

Gotcha. I understand now. I have had FJR fuel pumps of all generations out and disassembled many times but wasn't sure what you were talking about. Btw, I have never had an issue with the gasket sealing the pump against the tank. Even on old 2004 FJRs. Not that it couldn't happen, but not...

    Electrical problem — need help/advice

Yikes! That could be a million things. I hate electrical gremlins. Hopefully someone more knowledgeable will come along. I can say that many years ago my FJR lost headlights and the cooling fans. Turns out one of the clips for a coolant hose had pierced the main wiring harness taking out a...

Let's all gather around and laugh depressingly at what Kawasaki has just created for us. "Ninja 7"

That is not particularly accurate. You have to get past the limited BS the mainstream media gives you. EV sales are exploding. Relatively. Every quarter the year over year sales growth is expanding rapidly. EV sales are just not exploding like the government and manufacturers would have had...

    2025 FJR Speculation

    2025 FJR Speculation

Looks like a fun bike. As do the similar Kawasaki versions. But those are not for me. I don't want chain, the reduction in wind protection, and less passenger accommodations are deal killers for me.

    2025 FJR Speculation

That is quite the back-up plan. If that is the case I question how serious you are about the FJR? When you say 'new', do you mean another year of the same FJR but new? Or, a newly updated model? The former may happen a few more years, the latter not any time in the near-term if ever. Even...

    2025 FJR Speculation

Folks, as far as Yamaha is concerned the FJR is zombie - dead but barely lives on. Zero dollars are going for R&D. Nothing new besides color will come any year they still build the FJR. Be happy that it has lasted this long in North America as they can build them for cheap with all the R&D...

2 Gen 1 seats for sale

Yikes! 5 year old ad. I bet they be gone. The last time the poster was even here was November 2020.

Took a while but it finally caught up

Yup. Watching your second video the rear gave out first. If the front had given out first there is no way the bike would have gone right towards the inside of the turn. Weird. I would have thought that the front would have let go first.

Took a while but it finally caught up

Wow! That camera has an interesting way of catching the carnage! Weird. When your foot went down I still don't see anything happening to the bike. Did the rear give out first? If the front had, I would have expected the handlebars/front wheel to turn the opposite direction. My critique...

TIRES?? What tires are everyone running on their FJR?

Well, as a third data point I have 13,000 miles on a front Shinko Raven and it is definitely NOT my preferred tires for twisties. I can do 80-90% of other tires buy they are not the most confidence inspiring leaned over. Still, that tire has a few thousand miles left so they definitely get the...
