For the pilots in the group

"The Runway behind you, the sky above you, and the fuel that you didn't take are without doubt the 3 most useless things in aviation."

    What to do...

Just make sure you can track the refund and prove that the prick got the money. He'll probably try to tell you someone else cashed the check, or it went to the wrong address. I agree with others, I suspect you've been scammed. Sucks. Alex. the rest of us who have been...

Pre-NAFO riding thru Glacier NP and Idaho...oops I mean Colorado

One of the most fabulous slow rides I've EVER had was in Yellowstone this summer past. I was riding through the park at sun up, before all the lookey loos start the abrupt stupidity along the roads. I was actually able to do the full speed limit and only passed by 4 or 5 cars (mostly rangers)...

Pre-NAFO riding thru Glacier NP and Idaho...oops I mean Colorado

That puts you on the CLIFF side of the road! :o  :o (Notice I didn't say "guardrail side of the road"... because there isn't one!) Also, that 287 going from Butte to Yellowstone is FUN. I was on that last summer and I was about the only one on it. Granted, it's out in more or less...

Pre-NAFO riding thru Glacier NP and Idaho...oops I mean Colorado

Wheatie, WOW! That looks like a great trip! George is right about 12 in Idaho, it's fabulous. When you are heading west from Sawtooth, you are missing the Banks/Lowman highway (55 to Lowman on 21). If the road is open, it's quite a treat. Desolate and scarey fun. When you go west through...

IBA Members - Who wants a FREE Lunch at NAFO

We're thinking about getting there a day early, too. I'd be happy to sign you out if I'm there. You know, the Muckety Mucks will all probably be there the day before too, and I'll bet you can get several of them to vouch for you. Having the signatures of guys who Mr. Kneebone knows personally...

    Scala Q2

Saw this on Engadget. I don't own a Scala, but thought some of you might already. Evidently the older Q's can be "upgraded" so you can talk bike to bike (as well as bluetooth your phone and other stuff). Gives you about 1500 feet bike to bike. My AE sports a RINO GMRS with an Autocom SPA...

    Late Christmas present

Do I get anything for being forced to ride along with Griff on his BBG? :yahoo: Oh waidaminit.... I only went 1472 miles that day. Guess I don't get anything... cept prolly got to bed 10 minutes sooner than Griff... Good thing I was with him to make him keep a good pace. Then again, if I...

    Dream Realized

How far is Richardson from Taylor, Texas? Taylor is world headquartes for Team Rocket. They have a fly in down there a couple times a year at "Macho Grande" airport. I'll be going there the next time they have a fiesta. Giving rides will be a big part of flying this plane. But you'd better not...

    Dream Realized

Yes, I have a couple "eastern block" paint schemes. Winter cammo is cool. And I really like the Yak3. Still, just not sure what I may end up with. Right now, thinking of getting some WD CARC paint and going "aircraft green", then mil it up! I'll definitely be at OSH. I'll be iron butting to...

    Dream Realized

Building an F1 Rocket is not as easy as building a Vans RV. The Vans kits are terrific, as are the airframes. The RV manual is like a set of blue prints and the detail is amazing. The Rocket leaves much to your imagination. There is nothing "cook book" about it, unlike the Vans kits, which is...

    Dream Realized

Yeah, I heard the "Beer" thing on the video, too. My buddy Bill promised me a case of "Warbird Beer" after my first flight. It's a micro brew made in Fort Wayne. Has warbird pics and names on the different types. He was supposed to have it there waiting for me after my first flight. He finally...

    Dream Realized

Thanks Ari! Yep, it goes like stink all right. That take off (second) was about 500 feet. With fairings, technique and a little bit of flaps, I think I can get it down to about 300 feet. One of the vids shows a low pass and pull up to the left. I was going about 190 knots. Not bad for a little...

    Dream Realized

Thanks B-A-N-J! Glad you and your Dad got to tag along. Sorry about that 10 month lay off in the middle. Got busy riding FJRs and trying to get my money back from that fuckstick who stiffed me out of a motor. Anyway, after about 30 seconds in the air, all the trials and tribulations seemed to...
