Did not have a problem with my '07 FJR keys too. But keys on my '13 and '15 are noticeable weaker - so easy to bend, specially when unlocking side bags and sometimes you leave the key in.

I am always on "high" seat position as it is more comfortable for my knees, especially on long trips. A bit harder to handle the bike on parking slots, but no difference with handling during ride - you just need to "used it" I suppose...

I paid 170 Euro for rack. List price is 197 Euro. It is really big & robust casted piart and those additional reinforcement steel frames + caster connection bars makes rear tail rock solid. I am sorry that yamaha did not do something like that for stock version. This is just "aftermarket"...
