Would you buy a 07 with 63K miles

I may have missed it, but is the owner of the 07' the original owner? Doesn't sound like he is. Is he the second? If he has only had the bike a short time and has no maintenance records that would make a big difference on which bike I would consider.

    Shoie RF-1200: Caution.

Why the heck would Shoei do that? I rode with an RF-1100 with the dark smoke shield and loved it. I cracked it during my last get-off and decided to go with the GT Air so I could have the internal sun visor. I can't say i'm a huge fan of the GT Air. It's not quiet, seems heavier and it seems...

    Track Day Prep?

Great thread, I have been wondering the same thing. Would love to do some track days this summer. Someone warned me to plan on new tires after a day or 2 at the track? Not that your tread will be gone, but your tires will turn rock hard from the heat.

2014 bike **** - still gotta paint the Givi..

+1 on the reflectors. It's common knowledge that for each reflector you have you lose 2.75 hp. 2 reflectors x 2.75hp= 5.5hp for the math challenged members.

    Winter Glove Recommendation

Went with the Scarabs from the website El Toro recommended. Considering my current gloves are a 40g thinsulate I think an increase to 100g will be just about right. Thanks for the tips guys.

    Winter Glove Recommendation

I did a google search but most of what turned up was 2 years old and linky no good. I'm looking for a pair of winter gloves. What I want: 1) Hard nuckle armour (armour on palm and/or wrists would be a plus) 2) Warm 3) Not so thick that I can't feel the controls 4) Near $150 (I can't do...

    Help me choose please

I love these posts because I love looking at bikes and I get a little bike shopping by proxy. Go with the 2013 and farkle along the way with the things you really want. When I bought my 06' I had all kinds of ideas about what I wanted to do to it. Surprisingly I have not done that much...

Price premium for a ready-to-go battery?

I would assume that if it's shipped dry and you activate it, that it will have a 0 charge? Don't many battery tenders not charge a battery from 0? I have a Noco and I don't think it will.

Anyone Run Symtec to OEM Heated Grip Wires

All you have is an OEM heat troller. You need to search how to install symtecs with a heat troller. This thread doesn't really apply to you because you don't have the "guts" of the OEM system. Contact symtec or google search the forum for symtecs with heat troller. As ABQFJR suggested, if...

Have you or will you be in an accident?

I'm less than 10K miles with 2 get-offs. Both times downhill, sharp curve, going too fast. At least I'm consistent. The lesson? Slow down, speed kills or in my case, hurts for a few days. I sometimes go back and forth on whether or not I should ride a motorcycle. The problem is I...

Anyone Run Symtec to OEM Heated Grip Wires

If I read your post correctly it sounds like you ONLY have the OEM heat troller or do you also have the wiring harness? There are 2 different models of grip heaters. This link will take you to both styles. https://www.yamahapartsandaccessories.com/product/details/grip-warmer-kit One uses the...

Anyone Run Symtec to OEM Heated Grip Wires

I recently finished wiring some symtec heaters into the factory OEM system. After having a hard time finding out how to do it I thought I would share my work with the forum so people coming behind me would know how to do it. First let me say 95% of the credit should go to ABQFJR. He spent a...

Anyone Run Symtec to OEM Heated Grip Wires

I have been meaning to do a write up about it, including a couple pictures. I will try this weekend, but yes it works and is actually not that hard to do.
