I think it would look better if you left that gas tank band Silver....for a little break up of the red.

If I put a topcase on the FJR (which I don't plan to) I'd really like something with the lines of the Yamaha version, just not so ginormous. I'm a huge fan of GiVi quality, and ease of mounting, but somehow that aero, big lozenge shape just doesn't quite match the rest of the bike. But that sort of thing is entirely an individual choice.

thats funny, i always thought the Yamaha topcase was fugly. Maybe they all are fugly.

I use the Givi v47 on my 2013. It's got an angular look to it and it's the only case Givi offered that I thought looked good at all with the bike. The rest seem to be the rounded UFO style. All a matter of opinion, of course.

Yes, That is a sweet color that red. saying that iv'e always had a soft spot for red cars as well. Just my 2c worth here......leave the piece below the tank silver and do the side cover red to break it.

Gaz

Now that doesn't look too bad, leaving some silver breaks up what is otherwise a lot of a strong color.

Painting those will probably cost as much as picking up a pair of red ones

According to the European Yamaha website, the red is listed as Lava Red. They also have Magnetic Bronze and Midnight Black. Don't know if the color is the same as Candy Red here.

The reds do not look the same. The Lava Red appears darker, maybe a bit more maroon, than the Candy Red.

I don't understand the need to have region specific reds. Any wonder why Yamaha isn't making money with their MC division? It's the paint! The paint is killing them.

on the 2014 yamaha fiche, they list only two variations. silver and deep red metallic. No candy apple red. So I think HRZ is correct.

colorrite calls the usa color deep red metallic.

2 side panels are $200 total. Looks like $150 for the pair at some mail order sites. What do you think, is it worth it to be unique?
