    lubing the throttle cable

No sir, never tried graphite. Assuming you're referring to the throttle tube/ handle bar, I figure graphite would yeild good results but I'm at the point where I've become very comfortable just keeping the two surfaces clean and free of any additives of any kind. As PA1195 stated, "You'll find...

    lubing the throttle cable

Personally, I would remove the tube and clean off any and all contaminates from the bar as well as the plastic piece. Run it dry as in "no lubricants at all". Thing is, you can lube it and it will be smooth but over time it'll get buggered all over again. I run all my bikes' throttle grips...

have a friend somewhat new to motorcycling

I'm with Fred on this one. A "beginners" bike, as it were, is not a 1000 or a 1200. Why not start with a middleweight such as an SV650 or an FZ6 and throw some frame sliders on it? Your friend will spend less penny on an older machine coupled with the fact that it will be dropped at some point.

    White Mountains Retreat

You have placed this ride directly in the middle of the Loudon Classic! You'd better hope Zip-Tie Alley doesn't catch wind of this madness! ;) But seriously, depending on which races I sign up for I'll likely shoot to meet up with you sometime on Saturday. If you go on the Daks ride then...

Who's on the Jordan Suzuki? That Yates or Pridmore? Curious because a buddy of mine recently started working for the Jordan Suzuki team. I'm gonna guess Yates because I know he went down during qualifying and took out Scotty Greenwood (a New England local guy).

    Boston Moto Trackdays

Well, anyone who was interested but didn't go definitely missed a great two days with Boston Moto at VIR North. First day started off pretty damp and chilly, which aided in shaking off the winter season cobwebs and allowed everyone to practice smoothness. Rain was forcasted to arrive at 11...

    Ken Condon Saved My Life...

Nice write up, Shawn! Ken C is one of our local NH guys who doubles as a trackday instructor for Tony's Track Days. I've talked with him on a few occasions and he seems to be very articualte and informative. The way he delivers the message is understood by many, if not, all. I still have to...
