How about a 250k 08 club? I passed up the 05 (263k) I now have 264k on the 08.

Hit this milestone today on the ‘08. Seems random, but it is the ‘05s final OD reading when I decided to part it out.

I-10 Gold is done. I think that will be it for me…

Left Blaine,WA at 8:30 am and headed south down 5. My thoughts were that if I had a good run by the time I hit Sacramento, I would attempt the I-5 Gold (22 hours) if the ride was not good, I would head east on I-80 and visit family.    The ride went well and I completed it in just over 20 hours.

One of my issues is that I have become a hot weather rider. Anything below 75 and it feels cold right now. I may just buzz down 5 just to get a feel of warmth and figure things out down there. Blaine is cool, though I think I’m gaining weight quickly.

On a side note, I hit this mark on the ‘08:

I’ve had some time to think in Blaine… I-5 is not going to happen.  My choices are Oregon coast or home to see family in Iowa… still thinking.

I-95 is done. 2 hours to spare on the gold. Rain, traffic and construction were a PITA.

    I will be riding out Saturday morning (8/14) to attempt the remaining interstate rides from the IBA list I hope to ride down to Miami to start the I-95 ride at 7 am. I will attempt a counter clockwise "Box" around the country. I-95 Miami, FL to Houlton, ME  /  I-90 Boston, MA to Seattle...

Hmm Tyler (You bringer of bad news) Thank you for the info, as that would have been a bad surprise.  How does this affect NAFO?  (Been searching threads) The most I could find on a site is an August 6 reopening(?) I will keep searching….

Yes, I have been told a Sat/Sun ride would be much better and I confirmed that by checking the daily driving times. 2 hours faster on the weekend. The trouble is that I am riding 5 interstates consecutively and I’m the context of a 10/10ths… So I may just have to settle for the non gold version...

Unfortunately the IBA gives a rider 22 hrs to traverse the entire I-5 from Blaine, WA to San Ysidro, CA for the “Gold” version.

I will be southbound on I-5 on a ride that I cannot bypass I-5 at all. The starting time that I am considering has me hitting LA at 8 pm on a Thursday. I am not real experienced at lane splitting. Can someone give me some advice on traffic congestion times and  duration of delays… Thanks, Tony

Wow, I have closed some gap between our bikes. Mine has 3,700 to go now. If I end up doing another ride that I am considering, the ‘08 will be closing in on my ‘05’s final mileage.
