    Newfoundland in June.

Hey Scott, You had to mention snow, didn't you? I've had my fill of that stuff already this year, and I am sure NL will at least be a couple of degrees warmer than here now!. I will certainly keep you updated on the travel plans, but as of now we are leaving PA around 6pm on Thursday June...

    Newfoundland in June.

Thanks for all the input. I would love to go later in the year, however our timing is based on available dates from out respective jobs. It was a coin toss between June or July, but my wife decided the family vacation is July, hence the June travel time to Newfoundland. After spending the first...

    Newfoundland in June.

Myself and my buddy are currently in the planning stages of a week long trip to Newfoundland this June, primarily moto-camping. Probably going to do a saddlesore from PA up to North Sydney, NS, where will catch the ferry (and some sleep), to Newfoundland. Planning on visiting the obvious...

    Best Pennsylvania Roads

You already have the PA roads that I would have suggested, and also the scenic views, so the only suggestion I can offer is in the things to see category. Pymatuning spillway, on the Linesville to Hartstown road near Linesville, PA . Thousands of carp waiting to be fed , and ducks and other...

    SPOT Customer Service (NOT)

I have been using a Spot 2 for a couple of years now, and have never put Lithium batteries in. I have always used regular AAA's, usually getting them in bulk from Radio Shack (36 for @12), and while they do only last a few days, they are cheap enough that I don't mind. I have been thinking...

    The Void - Fredericksburg, VA

Kitty, it was great catching up with you and Walt at the Banquet and also meeting up with Andie & John, who incidentally scored me and was not a biotch... I had a great time despite the weather, and met up with some friends both old and new. (And the bike got washed into the bargain!). Ended up...

    WTB - cheap GPS

If that 2720 falls through, keep an eye on amazon.com. About a month ago, I scored a new old stock 2720 there for $80. Never registered and I was able to use the free onetime map upgrade.

Sport Touring Cameraderie Ride - Winchester Va - April 28, 2013

Hey Randy, Glad you got to the bottom of the neutral light issue. Sounds to be like something electrical, as if something was stuck in there, you would have known about it when you tried to retract the windshield. Hope you get it sorted soon. Have a good trip to New York, and I will catch up...

Sport Touring Cameraderie Ride - Winchester Va - April 28, 2013

Good seeing you again Randy. Had a good ride, and you will pleased to know that my bike is definitely cleaner now after 200 miles of riding in the rain. All in all, a good day in the saddle. Pete

That sucks Randy, although it wouldn't be the first time that I rode to Winchester just to eat breakfast.

    Recommendations for Hand Grips

I dispensed with my stock heated grips a while back, and initially installed the BMW grips, which I liked. I then managed to blag a set of Kuryakyn ISO grips in all black, and now prefer the size and feel of them. I think I paid about $60 for them.

Sport Touring Cameraderie Ride - Winchester Va - April 28, 2013

Hehehe, it's what sorts out the men from the boys. I don't recall a little bit of rain from stopping either you or I from riding. And, of course the weather is going to play along this year.

If the weather plays along, this is always a great get together with some outstanding rides. Hope to see you there again this year Randy. Pete

    MD/PA Ride - Sunday April 14th

Gotta agree with you on the Golden Corral, also known as the trough, but there are not too many places nearby apparently that can take that many people for breakfast, so I just accept it. The roads were great, but I noticed a lot of gravel, usually right on the riding line, which meant some...

My third winter riding in Maryland. Depressing

I used to commute daily from York, PA down to Baltimore year round unless there was snow or ice. One morning, I pulled into the parking lot at work, and a couple of guys looked over in disbeleif at me. When I took off my helmet, one of them shouted, "Dude, are you insane? it's 9 degrees"...

Twisted Throttle FJR Specific Light Bracket

As Chuck mentioned, I have the Denali D2D Dual intensity LED lights, mounted low on the forks and pointing out toward the sides of the road. Low setting is used for daytime running lights, and gives a very noticeable triangle of light. The high setting comes on with my high beams, and being...
