    Front Wheel Bearings

All you will need to replace is the bearing and the oil seal on each side. You can check your bearings to confirm they are the problem. Remove your wheel and rotate the bearings by hand. A bearing is shot if it feels "gravelly while turning. Before removing the wheel you could also try...

    Canadian Hornet

Nice pics and RR. I am keeping my eyes open for a CB599 Hornet for a second/third bike. Looks like you were on a CB919 Hornet. Not a lot of the CB599s were sold new of due to its price. Used prices are still high. It reminds me of a CB750 Nighthawk I used to own and regret selling.

    Personal gear

For the record I believe the picture you are refering to was a rider during the IBR, specifically on I10 in west Texas in the middle of a brutally hot afternoon..... I know because the rider was me. It was posted on the day 10 report. I was wearing deerskin gloves at the time. I believe that...

    National Parks Pass

I bought a NP pass for the 2010 IB5000 and again for the 2011 IBR. This time I did not buy one. Like Matt, I intend to purchase a pass at my first stop if required based on the # of NPs to be visited.

    SPOT 3

I am sticking with my SPOT 1. +1 to what Tim said. I would not try anything new at this point. Typical to have new product issues that will need to be sorted out.

To PR3 or to PR2 That is the question

I thought as much...... running with the tried and tested. I was not aware of your PR3 experience but I am pretty sure that I understand the "very very unusual circumstances".

    Rotella not good?

I changed my oil last night. All I had in the garage was some Rotella T and a little bit of Mobil 1 synthetic. I was really worried about using the Rotella T based on the comments in this thread. So I mixed a little bit of the Mobil 1 with the Rotella T in a ratio of 1:10 and presto...

To PR3 or to PR2 That is the question

Matt, I still have not made the switch to PR3s from the PR2s. Inquiring minds want to know why you are questioning whether to run the PR3s. Did you find that the PR2s have characteristics that make them a better choice than the PR3s for the IBR?

    MD2020

+1 on what Kitty said. Excellent advice. Athough you have heard it before, mentally prepare yourself for the highest highs and the lowest lows....particularly on day 9ish. The only thing I could add is that you (aka - Iron Mountain) will want to ensure that you finish behind older farts like...

    Rotella not good?

Wow.....pure chance that I stumbled across this post. Good thing too because I now have time to return the 10 litres of Rotella T that I purchased tonight. I can only imagine what potential engine damage I would have caused if I had of used it for my next oil change. That was way to close for...

    MD2020

Josh, Congrats and well done. I must apologize as several times I was going to track you down to say Hi but got side tracked in other visits. I will have your Cdn cash in Pitt. The cold during this rally was unbelievable. My route had me in north Ohio for most of the night. The temps there...

I could use some quick assistance with mounting a N/Line dash

I can answer a few of the questions. I may have a chance to take some photos next week when I return home. The following info is valid for a Gen II install. 2) You will need longer screws. 2a) From memory I think the spacers were approx 3/8". I would purchase a screw at least 1/2"...
