Possible group buy from Seat Concepts

Yeah, that thread was new back in December, and already completed.

    D3O Armor

Thanks for the review/information. I've looked at the same armor, and wondered if it would work or be worth the money -- sounds like a great path!

    Dyna Bead Issue?

Which static balancer? The Harbor Freight unit works well -- until the grease in the bearings starts to gel. Then you need a new set of high quality 608 skate bearings to put it back in service. Drag -- any drag -- on the axle will throw the balance off a bit.

    tire cupping

My experience is that PR3 and 4 fronts cup more and faster than any other tire I've ridden. All those microsipes grip really well, wet or dry, right up until my teeth begin to shake at low speed.

    exhaust pipes dented

Back in the day, Hooker headers were fairly famous for having a 'hammer' fit -- they often need a dimple here or there just to get them into the car. We're talking something like a 1" flat spot or similar? Perhaps from a jack lifting the front wheel by the pipes? If you're not running around at...

How to ride a Harley Davidson

Ran across this at brit MCN website, thought it worth sharing: https://www.motorcyclenews.com/news/2016/july/video-how-to-ride-a-harley-davidson/

    Little jack

If I didn't already suffer from an extreme case of TMS, I'd jump on one of these!

    Group buy Seat Concepts

So the key here is to figure out who has what near where you are. I often have the ability to lend one or the other seats if needed for a day. I'm in central Florida, and imagine others would do similar in other areas.

    Group buy Seat Concepts

I need more miles on mine. Been running a Sargent, just recently completed the SC. First impression is every bit as good as the Sargent, but with no slipping into the tank (because of the gripper cover).

    Group buy Seat Concepts

While the group buy was a smokin' deal, the regular price is a steal compared to any other seat option out there. If your in the market, don't wait for a group buy -- you'll just be sorry you didn't have the seat while you waited. And if you do get one, bear in mind the gripper cover really...

    The Witness

Well done! Both he for making his ride, and you for providing the appropriate hospitality! Tried to do a Saddle Sore in June a few years back, leaving Orlando and running through Louisiana to Texas. That did not turn out so well...

New Prototype Hybrid Stealth Military Motorcycle

The DARPA based article I read was full of information that just doesn't add up. They list HP and Kw values that contradict each other, and the weight is much higher than it would look like.

BILT - Explorer Waterproof Jacket and Pants

I have the Explorer waterproof jacket in hi-vis -- been a couple of years now. Wanted to be less than ecstatic, since it's chinese made, but have never found an issue. The vents work, and work well. The liner helps a lot (though I do have a Gerbing liner too).

    Air Filter

As has been noted, a dirty filter won't let dirt in, it will eventually restrict air flow. Bearing in mind the surface area is designed to flow sufficient air at the end of life for a motor at full RPM, seems pretty likely it will be difficult to feel a difference if you don't run around at high...

    Counteract balancing beads?

I used to run Ride-On after Rider Magazine's Tech Editor, Andy McDonald, did a very thorough evaluation. Then it failed to work on small screw in the center of the tread, exactly where it should work best. I had the Rid-On installed at a Harley Dealer, so wasn't all that sure it wasn't corrupted...

    Counteract balancing beads?

Maybe I've missed it, but it would sure be nice to see some quantitative data on this. Some form of vibration measurement on a front fork or swingarm with three cases: 1) new tire, no balance performed 2) same tire, purposely off-balance 3) same off-balance tire with beads I've done the obvious...

    Sturgis bike week

When the Sturgis Harley-fest gets too busy and crowded, bear in mind the absolutely awesome sites in the area that aren't Sturgis. Deadwood, Mount Rushmore, Custer (the Chief Motel is perfect motorcyclist lodging), Crazy Horse memorial (interesting for it's beginnings, even though I think it's...

    GoPro *Is it worth it?*

    No -- but how about a Hero+ for $200: https://www.target.com/p/gopro-hero/-/A-50038631#demo-video-block
