Baja Bound - An Odyssey of Wonder

Tyler that was fantastic! I really enjoyed your pictures you have a great eye. Petting the whales had to be a life changer, I had a similar experience ten years ago with some curious giant manta rays while diving in Hawaii. To this day the memory is still a good "happy place" to escape to. I...

    PR2 road noise

My front PR2 buzzes audibly and physically, took me a while to figure it out I thought I had a bearing going bad. At about 6k-7k miles it now sounds and feels like Im running knobbies when in the turns.

Hex bit lost in the engine area

found a complete set of "shorty" snap on metric end wrenches still in the tool roll that way. Back to the OP your bit may have gotten caught by a wire loom or the hard brake lines. I wouldnt worry too much about it.

Who has gone camping on an FJR?

Hey don those are helen twowheels seat panniers. Unfortunately I don't think they are available anymore which sucks cause they work great.

Who has gone camping on an FJR?

My top box is just a pelican case attached to a "Garauld" luggage rack. Forum member Garauld makes an excellent luggage rack as well as other bits for the fjr. I only keep light stuff in the pelican that I want to be able to lock up. You don't want to carry a bunch of weight on the rear sub...

Who has gone camping on an FJR?

I've done quite a bit of camping on mine I think it is an excellent platform for motocamping. Like any camping on a bike you need to make the most of available space. The best part is the fjr hauls butt even fully loaded. If you are interested here are two ride reports from a couple trips I...

no. not yet anyway. :innocent: I figured maybe his dog was some how related to the piedmont great dane and was dishing out a little retribution on motorcyclist in general. ;) Im tellin ya those animals are out to get ya dogs, goats, horses, cars full of teenage girls..... oh wait that was...

FJR to Super Tenere, regrets, pluses

With some mods I think the s10 will take you across country quite well, not as effortlessly as a FJR but it is quite capable. The torque makes it a lot of fun in the twisties and if you pass a tantalizing dirt road you can explore without a second thought. If I was going to use mine for lots of...

    2011 Hooterville 400

Had a pleasant ride home this morning, took the long way to play on some more twisties and reflect on a great weekend ride. Thanks wheatie and smitty for all you did to make this happen. It was great meeting everybody and being able to finally put a face with a few of the names. I had a blast...

    Yamaha Super Tenere 1200

I spent the weekend bringing home and breaking in the new steed. I am very happy so far with the ST. It is fantastic on the pavement, very smooth. We did about 60 miles on gravel and two track forest roads riding two up with a few shallow water crossings with no real drama. Now she is ready for...

    ENGINE MODS

I believe the cylinders are ceramic lined so no punching them out. I keep waiting for someone with bottomless pockets to slap a turbo on one.
