my house got robbed last night

What a pisser. At least you didn't get hit with one of the armed robberies that seem to be regular event in Fremont lately. Several incidents where the bad guys drive up behind you and tell you to throw your wallet in their car without turning around. Under the threat of being shot...

    2005 FJR Exhaust

On my way home from NAFO I asked a friend to do an eBay bid on a FJR exhaust for my '05. I won the bid, but it is a 2006 exhaust. I just received it today and can't see a bit of difference from my '05 unit except the part number. ( '05 = 5JW-2 ... '06 = 3p6-2) and that I need a muffler gasket...

    Radar Detectors

Great thread. After logging 4000+ miles and one speeding ticket on my NAFO loop, I am going to buy a detector and remove another state from my riding list. I've avoid Oregon whenever possible. I cut the corner of it on highway 95 heading home. Open desert with a re-f**king-diculous 55 mph limit...

    Home safe and sound

Made it back this afternoon. What a great event. A huge thanks to all who put out a huge effort to make it a success. I did a ten state loop for the trip for a total of 4,014 miles and a moving average of 51.4 MPH. A lot of effort went into avoiding straight roads, but there's a bunch of them...

    Storms gone bad again

:P I love them too, but the rest are yours (and Warchild). ;)

    Storms gone bad again

Not too surprising, especailly in the case of Storms, which are sold as sport touring tires. The top sport touring bikes aren't that different from each other in power and weight. Personally, I would now consider that to be very bad or out-of-date advise. I don't want another road trip spoiled...

    Great Movie Quotes. I'll start.

    Storms gone bad again

No offense taken really. I just thought it was an odd statement. The tire went bad it didn't wear out. Both front and rear still look great. The rep thinks there Iare one or more broken strands and possibly some internal separation. He warned me that it is not safe to continue riding with them...

    Storms gone bad again

Ouch! Yeah. Pretty unrealistic to expect tires to stay together for more then 1,500 miles. <_<

    Storms gone bad again

My second set of Avon Storms (rear tire me thinks) have gone bad in less than 2,000 miles. :angry2: Avon replaced the first rear tire free of charge. There was an assumption of early manufacturing problems, but that isn't the case. At about 1,700 miles it felt like I was constantly running...

The "proper" way to trailer your bike

How do people like that manage to stay in the gene pool? <_< I wish cops would ticket drivers carrying unsafe loads. I see it way too often on local highways.

Freak mishap in the kitchen tonight

You can bake in Pyrex but broiling is prohibited because the dish might explode. I'm not much of a cook, but I think 500 degrees is broiling and 350 is baking.

    Confessions of a Harley Rider

The new one with the Rotax engine is the 1125r. I've been wondering if I could do 200 miles on one of these (in the same day that is). It would look great parked next to my FJR :D The local HD sales guy said the first one is due in this week, but it and the next three are already sold.
