    something to cover lower saddlebags

Yeah, no. I don't want clear, clear won't hide the scratches and scuffs. And I'm way too lazy to make my own. I'm just saying, if Alex made an off the shelf solution, cut to match the bags contour, that was reflective and hid the scars, I'd be all over it. -MD

    Ignition switch removal thread

Nightshift, I cannot find the TSB, I had a copy of it once. But it's pretty simple, the dealer handed me my recall switch to install. (1) Remove bars, and take off the top triple. (2) To get it off I think you need to clip one of the wire looms underneath that surround all the cables an...

Ground spider blew the windshield motor

My Guess is that it's probably just the S6 or S7 Spider that's fubar, and maybe/hopefully the motor is fine. The recall harness doesn't replace the sub harness under the nose (as far as I know). You should be able to 'repair it' if it's just the spider. If it were me, I'd try that before...

The Perfect BT setup? I think I found it.

Did 4.1 fix the ****** audio? I bought the SMH10's updated them from 3.x to 4.x and the audio was super ****** so I sent them back. -MD

    Airhawk vs airhawk 2

I used a Sargent for years, and it's a good seat. Stock seat < 200 miles Sargent < 6-700 miles For more than that 6-700 miles the Airhawk went on top to get me some comfort for the next 300 or so for a typical rally 1,000 - 1300 mile day A Russel is what they say when properly fitted...

    Airhawk Seat

According to their website both are repairable. https://www.airhawk.net/whats-the-difference.aspx Like I said, it really just depends on where the leak/puncture is. It's just a fancy air bladder. I know of guys who have used 8" Wheel barrow inner-tubes inside the airhawk case after they...

    Airhawk Seat

It really depends on where the hole/leak is. If it's not on a seam, you can easily repair it with a standard bicycle inner tube patch kit. DAMHIK -MD

FJRF009.3 "Spider failures other than S4" Research

Ross, You should report it, the more data they have the better. Doesn't mean they'll ever fix it, but... Click the link in the post above and report it, takes only 5 minutes. -MD

    Driving lights

These are pretty awesome... Best bang for the buck I think... https://www.dishers.com/2011/07/09/new-eyes-for-the-fjr My right one is aimed a little off to the right, left one down just a tab. I don't generally get flashed on divided highways, but do on two lane roads. I rode all night in...

    Rally Follies

Sounds like you had a good rally ride. Did you go 36 or 24? In rally mode I pretty much leave the key in the ignition for the most part, have another for getting gas. When we returned from the bridge (the next to the last bonus for us in the MD2020) my key was gone. Like gone/gone. WTF...

    Opinion? Olympia AST 2 Jacket

I don't have *that* jacket. But do have the mesh predecessor, 3/4 jacket, which being mesh obviously vents well. It's going on 5 years old and outside of being smelly, and somewhat dirty now as high-viz will get, it's been an awesome jacket. I've washed it a half dozen times and it's help up...

New Mv Handlebar Risers with angle adjustment!

I looked and couldn't find an address. They appear to be in Germany, if I can get an address and if it's near where I'll be in the fall I'll stop by and check it out. Might even buy one. :) -MD

New Mv Handlebar Risers with angle adjustment!

Right, but to service the head bearings you have to remove the top triple clamp anyway, so you'd have to pull this and STILL pull the top triple. While 'ewe' was my initial reaction as well, as I thought about it, it just wouldn't be that big of a deal. Also, once you've upgraded those head...

New Mv Handlebar Risers with angle adjustment!

I tell you what, if this would have been on the market in 2006 when I bought the bike I wouldn't have had to have my wrists broken and reset to match the bar angle. That would have been a good thing. Nice find. :)
