    Clutch operation, cable versus hydraulic?

I'm with Ashe, Rad and Rickster. I work with hydraulics and it makes it easier for the user to get greater force. The Brakes on the FJR are very good IMO, ABS or not. Some brakes on cruisers etc are cheaper and less useful than the ones on my mountain bike. The cable works fine with those simple...

    Engine Oil Light On

Sounds like a Gen II thing. Ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha....what a moron. Find a different place maybe, you do not want an ***** to work on your bike. (Yes, I know the first post is a month old)

Well so far this year I'm 2-3

I think that people want to ride the way they did before winter and forget to slowly re-introduce all the mental and physical properties of riding skills in the spring. Not only that, there is a lot of sand and foreign objects etc on the road in the spring and tires are quite cold and not so grippy.

    Linked Brakes Open Discussion-Thoughts

Not on very slippery surfaces. The slight grabbing of brake will make the wheel slide on ice for example before the ABS kicks in. The slowing down of the wheel at a faster rate than momentum slowing on very slippery surfaces is a slip, and a possible sliding of the the wheel. Would not be good...

    Two near misses

I suppose natural selection will soon put its hand out and snatch these clowns up. I will not shed a tear.

    #$@&@! Volvo commercials

That is very scary. People are finding more and more ways to be less accountable and to do more in their vehicle besides driving. I think that is still pretty far off for the big populace, even considering the technology we do have. [slight highjack story] Anyway, it scares the crap out of...

What's in your little left hand cubbyhole ?

Funny you say that. I have a smashed can in the little box, and a smashed can in my riding jacket pocket. The one in the box is a spare.

    Trucks, air, & lane position

Yes, yes and yes. Someone who lives in the left track and never moves out of it is asking for trouble. You must makes yourself visible. In the case of trucks, the buffer you place by going right is very helpful as mentioned above. Also not a fan of group rides. If I do a group ride with...

    Prius is an environmental nightmare

    one more quick question

Anywhere between 35 and 50. 42.5 when I lend it to grandma so she can get to her bridge game in the next village. Superslabbing at 75 mph gives me 40-45ish.

Do you use the clutch when you upshift?

Awesome post Jestal, Renegade and a few others. I also pasted Jestal's post into my many documents of information. I do it, but could never have explained it that well or clear. I use the clutch sometimes, sometimes not. I used to ride dirt a lot and am back into it. Dirt and Street, whatever...
