packing for a long trip ran out of space

I guess I'll trot out that old gem I read in a bike mag many years ago. When packing a bike for a long trip, lay out everything you think you'll need and put all the money in your wallet you think you will need. Then throw out half the stuff and take twice the money.

    Portland Police Shooting

"Glad your wife wasn't involved or hurt in the scuffle." "Witnessing a shooting can be pretty traumatic. Take good care of her." "I hope your wife gets over witnessing this." "My best to your wife, Dusty " I am a little late getting back to this post, but thank you all for your supportive...

Wheatonfjr is stranded in Murphy, NC

Something he might try that worked for me when my AE wouldn't start because of code SHIFT_26. Turn the key on then off. Then back on and hit the starter quickly before the instrument sweep finishes. For some reason unknown to me, that defeated the code interlock, or whatever you would call...

Is my bike giving my Cancer?

Probably makes weird sounds when you walk, too. Crinkle crinkle crinkle.

    My commute home last night

That was fun to watch. Wish we had that option in Oregon and WA. If I tried that here, I would probably get shot or doored before the Police gave me a ticket. I noticed at least one cage move to the left to give you more room. Guess cagers are ok with it there.

    Portland Police Shooting

Just got a video call on Skype from my wife. She was taking a nap after work, got woke up by some commotion out on the street behind our apartment patio. She went to investigate, and ended up watching the Portland police tazer then shoot to death a guy sitting in the passenger seat of a car...

    Newest crash club member.........

Tough luck dude. Glad your injuries are not serious, only painful. I believe there is always something a rider can take from an incident like this, something that can be added to ones situational awareness/defensive driving skill set, even when the other driver is at fault. Heal up and get...

    Bonding the hard way...

You are a braver man than I. I would have started the kid in a beginning level MSF course, but that's just me.

Of speed, surly skies and snowstorms... a WA state stroll...

I cleaned it up a bit so as to not frighten fairweather, reclino-riders like Dusty... wink.gif I even have a heated Gerbing jacket liner and Gerbing heated gloves. Wifey calls me Mr. Comfort.

Of speed, surly skies and snowstorms... a WA state stroll...

"the fluid rhythm of man, machine and macadam blending into a seamless rush as the curves were smoothed by gentle leans and pressure on the end of the clip ons." Pure poetry. Almost gay. :drag: Nice report. And anyway, damn you for riding in this foul weather while I sit home and whine...

    Blankety blank weather

I had to google "fricative" AND "puling". Puling applies to my case, but not so sure about fricative. I think you just threw that one in there because it sounds like friggin. Anyway, can't go south. Got a solitaire game to finish. And my dishes are still dirty. And wifey gets anxious when...

Now you've gone too far!. I just may have to go out to the garage and assuage my hurt feelings by installing that Datel voltmeter that's been in my toolbox for 4 months. Or not.

    Blankety blank weather

What??!! You think I got nuttin better to do than hang out on this board?? Nonsense. I just finished hanging up a hummingbird feeder and - doing my dishes. Well I really haven't gotten to the dishes yet, but I will.
