How do you “Long Distance” guys concentrate???

If you find you're getting interested in the LD rides, work your way into it and go for it. If you like to tweak your bike and get a kick out of it, that's something we all get a joy from. If it turns out that LD riding is becoming a distraction, work your way along, take notes of things that...

    Wobbly windscreen advice...

When I had the MPG gauge recall work done, the dealer left the mounting bolts for the windshield stay loose. You may want to pull the windshield off and check them.

I had a dunderhead incident early this morning...

My 'incident' happened on a beemer, but it's similar. i was rolling north on I-15 in Utah and came upon a flatbed dually pickup on a thinly populated interstate. He was in the right lane and I was in the left; subliminally, something was amiss, I rolled off to match his speed...

    fuel cell not flowing

I've had transfer problems also. Leaving the hotel on the 1st tank of the 1st leg of the '07 IBR, fuel wouldn't transfer and I ran out of gas on the interstate. Had the problem the whole rally :dribble: I have noticed on occasion fuel getting pushed from the main tank to the aux, so I've...

    Arm Chair LD Rallies

I'm in on this 'rally' I'm interested in the mental excercise and time clock pressure of the competition. The riding is missing for sure but, I know how to do that. A fresh spin on rallying is what I'm after. The bike's splayed open like a fish in the garage, so I'm gonna give up some time on...

Hey Boyz, you got FJR Balz?

Steve Chalmers had a bonus a few years ago in the Utah 1088. A truly nasty road to Grosvenor Arch in southern Utah. 15 miles in with shallow sand interspersed with deep sand. Then 15 miles out :dribble:

Can't fit the Helibar triple clamp on

I just re-installed my heli-bars after a fork oil change and doing an all-balls steering bearing change out. Did you do anything else like loosen the lower fork clamp bolts? Can you get a mirror and have a close look to see if anything is physically in the way of the heli-bars clamp from...

Gotta love blondes in the winter

A blonde pushes her BMW into a gas station. She tells the mechanic it died. After he works on it for a few minutes, it is idling smoothly. She says, "What's the story?" He replies, "Just crap in the carburetor" She asks, "How often do I have to do that?"
