Yamaha ≠ KTM or any other brand (BMW with their final drives and such). IMO Yamaha has listened to its customers and reacted better than most manufacturers to complaints and issues. I know people don't feel they should have to wait for these things, but everytime I have seen Yamaha come out...

I just felt really wrong about you making the decision to go to a lesser bike instead of the '08 for this reason. Not bagging on...

The '08 has a new ECU that has been tested and they fixed the surge problem. The '07 ECU replacements are completed and being manufactured and will be shipped to dealers that have customers with logged complaints. Yamaha has stepped up, fixed the problem, and has shipped the first ECU already...

And if your Yamaha dealer is a different dealer than your Kawi dealer and you are happy with your yamaha maintenance shop, there is reason to buy another yamaha...they have a new WR250F that looks really nice!

The price and mileage are good. It is due for a valve check at 26k. Maybe you should ask him to do that service before you buy. Seems most FJRs are within specs at that mileage...unless driven really hard.

all that riding to Utah and it rained hard as soon as we finally got on the bikes and see what I missed! Maybe next year I'll have better luck with the weather.

When I low sided my bike, one of the first things I thought was, "I'm glad that wasn't my FJR!" Then I got mad because I just low sided my 2 day old DRZ400SM. Still...glad it wasn't my FJR!!!
