Relay Arm, modified for easier lube service

This has been talked about before. Sounds like it would work but........ Pumping grease through the bolt would not get to the bearings, it would just go between the bolt and the bearing "spacer". Not sure how easy to would be to drill through the spacer?

Resolved!: Screwed up big -- trusted the dealer for the first valve check

I would just get the bike home & check it out. If it runs like it did before it went in then they probably fixed it but are unwilling to acknowledge the fact - just forget the whole thing and put it down to experience. If it is not running like it did then it's time to consider other...

This is an additional wire from the point where you connect all the existing wires together to battery negative.

    Relay switch

I would take a picture of the plug and send it to Eastern Beaver. I always found them to be very helpful............

FJR Headlight problem possibly dimmer relay

Yes the bridging 'pin' will pull out. You need to carefully inspect the whole connector block for signs of overheating. If you are absolutely happy with what you see then use your favourite anti-corrosion compound to ensure no corrosion is likely to take place. If you see anything that doesn't...

Is this a norm? Jerky at low RPM (1-2 rpm)

For me 2500 RPM is just about minimum (in any gear). 2500 RPM in third gear equates to ~ 30 MPH (48 KPH). This bike will do 90 MPH (140 KPH) in second gear so if it's lugging (jerky) drop a gear..............

Bad ABS hydraulic unit/module 2007A, per Yamaha dealer

If the brake fluid is not leaking away somewhere (easy to check) and the level is not dropping in the master cylinder - I would not be looking at the ABS module. "A few months ago the front brake lever started requiring it to be pumped 2 or 3 times before it would build up pressure. After...

    Turn & Hazard fuse failure

When you 'unsolder' just leave all the wire ends free (not touching) until you have checked the fuse........

    Turn & Hazard fuse failure

Not sure which came first - the fuse failure or the soldering of spider 6? I would definitely try unsoldering the spider and see if that solves the fuse problem. Just take it one step at a time............

Fault Code 14 Gen II - Solved

Is there a possibility that it originates in the throttle body? When the bodies are hot, the fuel will be vapourised, migrate up the tubes and then (additives) condense in the final bit of tube close to the sensor. Over time this could build up and cause the problem you are seeing. Either way...

    Dry Clutch

"The shift from neutral to first still has a clunk to it which i think is pretty normal for these bikes. My neighbors 2015 does the same thing. If I pull in the clutch and wait maybe 10 seconds before shifting to first there is no clunk" I find that pulling in the clutch and giving the...

    Dry Clutch

Suggest you try typing the following clutch soak site:fjrforum.com this will get you all the info you need. e.g. "When I did my soak, I got this error. My cure was to take the clutch apart and put it together again, taking special care that the ring at the back was properly seated (most likely...

    Broken Penske Clevis.

Lot's of interesting 'rabbit holes' to go down but.......... I find it interesting that Yamaha decided to move away from their 'standard' solution to this type of mechanical clamping arrangement. Normally they go go for a sliding bushing to apply the clamping force to the bearing collar as in...

    starting issues

I would be suspicious of the starter motor. If you have access to a clamp-on ammeter, try measuring the starter current. It should be around 60-80 amps, if it is significantly higher you will need to service or replace the starter motor.

    Broken Penske Clevis.

That is not good! I would be looking for a 1.5mm shim to fit in the 'gap' on the left, sized as Fred has said (inside diameter to fit over the bolt, outside diameter to match the bearing/spacer). The shim should be able to slide through with the bolt from the LH side.

    Broken Penske Clevis.

I think I would start with the new clevis and the original bolt (but on the bench) before installing it on the bike. Assemble the parts and just snug down the nut. Then check to see if the head of the bolt is tight against the side of the clevis. If it is tight, it might be worth checking...
