On the Gen 1 bikes, not sure about 2s & 3s, there is a hazzard light flasher switch on the left side panel.

I never use mine. Can I use this as an auxillary light switch? I am using a relay and thought this would be a nice clean

light switch.

If so, my next question is how do I wire to the relay. There are three wires coming from the hazzard switch.

On the Gen 2, when the switch is in the "On" position, all three wires are joined. So you can disconnect the original circuit (properly insulate the wires going to the indicator relay if you cut them), use one of the switch wires from your supply, one of the others to your load. Don't exceed the switch's current rating, probably something like 3.5 amps through one of its contacts. I suppose you could go to 7 amps if you feed through the brown/green wire, join the brown wire and the green wire together and take to your load.
I expect the wire colours are the same on your Gen 1.

Just found a UK 2001 Gen 1 wiring diagram, the centre wire colour is brown/white not brown/green.

Just to add, on the Gen 3 this is a two-wire switch, probably not designed for more than enough to drive a relay, it's merely telling the ECU to tell the meter unit computer to operate the hazard lights, not actually switching them itself. Not relevant to the OP, but may be to Gen 3 readers of this thread.

Where can I get a three wire female plug that the hazard switch plugs into?

That way I can simply unplug the hazard switch from the stock plug abd avoid cutting any wires.

I would take a picture of the plug and send it to Eastern Beaver. I always found them to be very helpful............
