    Phantom Blue Matte Paint encounter

The phantom Blue case is nice, I am still using my midnight black topcase on the Matt Blue. That is absolutely possible. I personally like the blue better, but not so much that I am going through the trouble of painting the black case blue... See an example with the blue case...

    Phantom Blue Matte Paint encounter

Errr, radiator guard is another farkle, is now serving on FJR no 3. And no, EU FJR comes with the standard blue cases. These city cases I already built for my previous (black) FJR for everyday use. I just kept them: black fits the new Matte Blue just fine. Other farkles: - painted the new top...

    Phantom Blue Matte Paint encounter

I had my Matte Blue encounter last tuesday. Spent two days 'farkling' and today I finally took it out for a decent ride... Some farkles: Replaced the tiny standard horn: Installed custom made navigation mount: Installed risers (after painting them black) Installed my old clutch and...

What Generation are 2016 and 2017 FJRs?

In Europe we tend to use tha Yamaha Starting code of the VIN to identify 'model' or generation. When applying that logic, each introduction of a new RP code to the market could be considered a new generation (you would now be up to GEN8!) But this would set the AE and ES apart from the A model...

2007 Top Case Attachment Bracket - JIggly Top Case

I don't think there is a difference @ the rear end between a Gen 2 and a Gen 3. I owned both and installed the rack myself on my Gen 3. I am quite sure it will also fit a Gen 2..

2007 Top Case Attachment Bracket - JIggly Top Case

Ik had the same. The upper and lower part separated. I reinforced the back side with 2 bolts. This keeps it in place. Now I have the aluminium rack so the problem is solved.

Anatomy of Gen III Fly By Wire TPS

Never mind that. This was related to the previous model. Sorry.

Anatomy of Gen III Fly By Wire TPS

Interesting reading this. On august 26, 2016 one of the Technical expert in our FJR community (NL) reported that Yamaha has released an updated TPS... It is now supposed to be electronic rather than mechanical adn should give a more consisent signal to the ECU (his words not mine) New one on...

    KTM Super Duke GT

I made a test-ride on the KTM GT Yesterday, and although it is a lot of fun it cannot replace my 2013 FJR where it concerns practical use and most of all Highway ridiing...

Thanks, I keep the Dutch FJR forum up to date and this includes a page on the US models as well.. the VIN designation for 2016 was still missing... https://www.fjr-club.nl/index.php?page=36

2016 Is Official 6-spd, Slipper, LEDs, Analog Tach, Price

Just curious, what are the starting codes of the VIN in the US in 2016? In Europe we have the JYARP281xxxxxxxxx for the A version and the JYARP28?xxxxxxxxx for the ES??

    Yamaha Topcase (New?)

I installed the new Rack on my 2013 today. Unfortunately you need to cut the holes in the rear side fairing a little larger, making it more that a few minutes work... The result is quite nice: it hold the old topcase exactly, and the case is attached al lot more securely than it was with the...

    Yamaha Topcase (New?)

The new Rack does not just bolt on, but requires some extra bits and pieces to be fitted under the seat. One of these bits (a steel plate with a hole in it) was not in the box... Will post the pics when I get the missing part in the mail...
