Yup, what he said.  Hey Surly you left the 'e" out of your name. Surely, you aren't Surly.

Trusting a Mechanic After a Mistake

I have the worst mechanic in the world work on my FJR. Thing is, he works for free, stays at my house, and knows his way around my garage. I can say that even that putz never put a brake pad on backwards AND said there was not much difference between the brake material side and the backing side...

    Gen2 items for sale

I'm pretty sure if you send them Parcel Post it will be much less than that, especially if you sell them close to where you are. I have bought and sold several FJR wheels. Shipping prices have gone up, but I don't think that much. Just My Opinion. Phil

    New forum member

Happy you are here. If you have an 06 one of your first farkles, after a seat and a set of barbacks might be getting your CPU flashed. If you haven't ridden a bike this powerful be careful, you can get into trouble, real fast. Good luck.

mine announces it's sometimes insane directions through my 10S Sena helmet bluetooth, can't imagine it wouldn't send the same info to any bluetooth it was connected to but what do I know. LOL

    Free Saddlebag liners

I use my left liner for tools and it has ripped where the handle attaches, from all the weight and abuse. If it's still available I would love to have the left that's left. That being said, if someone needs a SET let them have them, It's much harder to find a set than just a left. Hopefully...

    Loud Pipes? Nice job.

Ha, I can't wait to tell my daughter that her beloved HHR was designed by the head designer of the PT Cruiser. NOTHING pisses her off more than for someone to say, "hey, I like your PT Cruiser"? LOL

    Wild *** Air Cushion

I got an airhawk when I had an FZX700 because you couldn't get a real hi-mileage seat. It was great compared to the stock seat. I like to stand up now and then on long rides and I was worried that the chincy straps would not hold it down, and I worried that if I didn't take it off every time...

    FZ-1 Owner coming over

What year are you buying? Obviously a 13 or newer, I just want to know so I can know whether to be jealous or not. Oh heck, if it's a Gen. 3 I will be jealous anyway. Welcome to the sandbox.

    Time to say goodbye

Well Gary, I think that if I was flush I am about ready that I might test ride that Gold Wing myself. Would love for you to come back now and then and give some real feedback after you get a few thousand miles on her. Hope you find a forum almost as good as this one. Not sure there is anything...

    Hi from KS

Now that a moniker. $1.98 I wish I would have thought of it. I had an 03, my first FJR, loved it and miss it some, it was definitely faster in the twisties and easier to wheely and turn. {shorter swingarm and wheelbase} I lived in Florida so the extra heat was a little disconcerting. I am now...

The All New.... Harbor Davidson motorcycle

The Chinese engine is a direct copy of a Honda engine, SO.........Hondaly-Harborly-Davidson. A friend of mine bought some HD stock, after hearing a quote from a HD vice-President of sales. After he lost his shirt on the stocks, he said "I misunderstood when the guy said, "we can't build them...

    08 Goldwing and Bushtec trailer

Not looking for an argument here, but I thought I remembered that 1911 had trouble locating bearings when his broke down on his trip and he had to find a Bushtec dealer.  Ha, maybe different model years or something. Good luck with the sale.

    08 Goldwing and Bushtec trailer

Seems like a "fly and ride" is in the works for someone. Remember to have a spare tire and bearing assembly for that Bushtec if you are going a long way. 1911's awesome story of his Alaska ride pointed that out. What a deal for someone who want's to do some serious travelling.

Low battery voltage constant with revs

Wow, thanks for this post. I had no idea my 8500 would display voltage. Yes it is a little lower than my voltmeter reads at the battery, but knowing that it's all about change. Sweet. I call this a coronavirus benefit. LOL
