2006 Gen 2 problem after spark plugs change

You said, "I thought it was going to 'get better' but it got worse". Was there a problem before you changed the plugs? Did you put in standard plugs or Iridium plugs? Were you careful not to let something go down the plug hole when the plug was out? IF THERE WAS A PROBLEM before you changed...

    Dumb Assery Rev2, dCarver style

I hate myself when I know I should be thinking, "dang, that is really bad luck and I am very sorry it happened to you, and glad it turned out as well as it did", and what I really am thinking is "how did the right bag get damaged, if it fell on it's left side?, this is one of my fears about...

    '13 high Frequency Vibration

Perhaps try dropping the spring preload and compression damping quite a bit, say to the 4th or 5th ring on the spring preload, and 12-15 clicks out on the compression damping you could reduce the amount of vibration transferred to the bars?? I am guessing here, but if by doing this the...

2006 FJR – For Sale, Charleston, SC $3400

Got to ask. How does a 2006 motorcycle, end up with a 2003 title of any sort, salvage or otherwise. Just curious.

    Bought another Yamaha

Ahh, but for the lack of talent, there go I. I don't know if it's true, but I have heard that Yamaha's knowledge of sound waves from building musical instruments, was a major factor in them being able to build their early two stroke racers and that success, as always gave them a big advantage...

The Boat Owner and IRS Agent

After I had been commercial diving for lobsters a year, and could never find a regular partner, and the boat broke three times, I got wind of an old lobster diver that had lost his partner. {not literally, though that did happen occasionally in our industry}. I called him and advanced the idea...

'07 FJRA - "Another starter relay needed ?" FYI - Rhetorical rant...

FJR starter relays are a dime a dozen on Ebay. If you change it once and it takes you an hour {it's right behind the battery on the right side, at least on my FJR} you can do it in 30 minutes the next time. I have two, I can send the best one for 5 dollars shipping. I know that none of this...

    2005 FJR 1300 For Sale

I don't want to bother you for a lot of info, since I am not in the market for another FJR. But, I have a RSV lower ratio Final Drive on my 07 FJR, and I love it, but I did not know there was another option. Thanks, Phil

FS- Air Hawk single seat cushion-Reduced Price

Before I got my RDL the only thing that kept me on the FJR for long distances was my Air Hawk. For the guy who buys this, some advice. The seller will probably remove all the air in it to ship it. Put as LITTLE air in it as you can and still not have your butt touching the seat. Lesser is...

    gen 1 trailer hitch

I bought all my hitch's from Ebay, they don't come up a LOT. But if you search for FJR1300 trailer hitch, and then ask to be notified when one comes up for sale, they do come up now and then. Also, when shops sell stuff off of used FJR's they often post a video of the bike running so you KNOW...

    Low mileage trade-in? A record perhaps !

No ABS, no sale, in my opinion. Look how wide those luggage cases are on the Gen.1 bikes, glad the Gen. 2's were narrowed a bit, though the wife says she misses the wider Gen. 1 passenger seat.

    Spider bite on a 2012

Ridiculous to replace the harness, just cut the ends of all six wires and solder them together. Someone's looking to bend you over. I know they don't want to do anything that would seem unprofessional, but hell, if nothing else, buy a harness off Ebay, cut the six wires leading to that spider...

    The Hog Phenomenon

In South Carolina where I live now, even most of the Hardley riders will semi-wave at you. In South Florida, where I used to live, you could almost NEVER get a Hardley rider to wave and the ones with the "ape hanger" bars ABSOLUTELY NEVER. One day on a LONG STRAIGHT road I saw a guy with...

    Gen 1 Rear shock interchange

You can use any FJR shock except for an ES shock. I think the Gen. 3 model "A" shocks are dirt cheap on some of the sites. Google FJR shock, or Replacement fjr1300 shock, or such. Easy peasy to change a Gen. 1 shock, not so easy for Gen. 2 because of the ABS stuff in the way.

    The Hog Phenomenon

I don't know why the animosity, Those who say "live and let live", "ride and let ride", then don't want to let a guy "write or not write". SHEESH. I personally think MOST of the HD phenomenon, comes from a combination of movies and personal history. Almost every individual I have quizzed about...

Raise the FJR tail - How to?

Soupy's Performance doesn't advertise it, but they have an adjustable set of doglegs that can either raise or lower the FJR. https://www.soupysperformance.com/ https://soupysperformance.com/yamaha-star/fjr-1300/soupys-yamaha-fjr1300-1st-gen-2003-2005-threaded-style-lowering-links.html I...

Alpinestars Cape Town Air Drystar Jacket (NEW) $100

I came up from behind a fellow on a BMW yesterday, and was amazed at how his Yellow Hi-Viz jacket stood out, even when I was a LONG way behind him. Unfortunately, I need an XL. I DO need to make sure my next jacket has at least some Hi-Viz material on the back.

    World SuperBike 2019

I have only seen the first two races, but he seems to be handling it pretty well. A little "*** kicking" is good for us all, now and then. Makes the races more interesting as well.

2007 Rear brake Pad Falls Out

Is it April fools day? Have I missed something? If you "loosen" up the pads they "fall out"?

    Deer Strikes by State

Interesting fact, to me at least. I was watching a series on South Carolina on TV and they said that at one time, early in the states history, the PRIMARY export was deer hides, that went to Europe. Also interesting, later on, primary export was RICE and a LOT of it went to China. LOL
