Opinions on PC 3 fuel maps

I used a PC 3 on my 03 and my 07, on the 03 it didn't make a difference but cost me mileage {I mistakenly thought I could set it to get MORE mileage}, and in the case of the 07 it fixed the on/off "light switch" throttle problem but at the cost of several MPG so I removed it. Just so you know...

    WTB: Front Brake Rotors

If you don't find them here there are plenty on Ebay.

    Suicide weather

Whatever you do, do NOT move to South Florida. Comfortable riding season it ONE month {January} and two hours in the morning four other months. LOL

Need advise on compatibility of parts

Probably not, completely different ABS, the calipers were different, there were no "linked", "combined" brakes.

Need advise on compatibility of parts

Almost nothing external. Different generations. Gas tank, air filter, pegs {though they ARE a little different, I discovered}. bulbs, tires, Final Drive, Axles? Fork tubes? Shock and associated parts. Many internal engine parts.

    Which helmets fit saddle bags

I have a "large" Quest that fits in the left bag if I put the bottom of the helmet in first, chin to the back of the bike. My x-large Quest will NOT fit in the left bag,but it has a Sena mount on it, so I don't know if it's the mount or a different size shell that keeps it from fitting. The...

    Clutch actuation cylinder

On my 07 I installed a Gen, 1 {2003-2005} slave cylinder which definitely had a softer pull. {I heard the AE, which came out in 06, required a longer "throw" to work correctly, so the ratio of the "slave" was changed for ALL Gen. 2 FJR's}. I also don't know if they "softened" the pull on the...

    Clutch actuation cylinder

Perhaps you should just purchase one from Ebay. I never heard of one of these failing before, so the odds are the used one you would buy would last as long as you do.

    Defer maintenance 1000 miles?

Having lost my brakes once on a steep curvy road due to lack of maintenance, I always recommend changing brake fluid like Chicago voters vote, early and often.

    Smoky Mountains in the Fall

Nice stuff, enjoyed the music. My wife came over to see what I was watching because of the music. I enjoyed all the pics of old barns and brooks and types of leaves. Just long enough.

Motorcycle Fuel Injection V. 1.02 – by Jens Lyck

Very good stuff, IMO. I knew a lot of that, but a LOT I did not know. But if all the components on your bike were at the maximum tolerance and they were all pulling the AFR in the same direction you could have a bike that runs 8% leaner or 8% richer than the preprogrammed value. The above part...

Very nice Garmin 550 $165. shipped to Conus

I bought this locally, thinking to upgrade my really well used Zumo to this one in much nicer condition. I thought these all came with lifetime maps but that is not so. Since I have lifetime maps with mine and it's set up with my music I am going to sell this. I have benefitted greatly by...

    Givi E55 Maxia Trunk, SR357-SOLD

If the shelf is still available I would like to get it. Just one quick question. I have NOT changed the windshield system, so my windshield comes all the way down each time I turn off the key. Will the windshield hit the things on the shelf? I understand that it would definitely hit stuff if I...

    Givi E55 Maxia Trunk, SR357-SOLD

Hey Mr. Owlsey, I guess you sold your Gen. 2 and this is what is left. Could you send me a pic or two of the shelf? I see the widders are accounted for. That was really great of you. I love my widder vests and gloves. I know they aren't the latest tech, but they keep me warm. LOL Thanks, Phil...

    2018 fjr shifting problems

Two things almost always are the cause of this. Wrong size boots/poorly adjusted shift levers, AND sticky shift linkage that does NOT allow gear pawls to return to the correct place on shift drum.

    Pannier boxes, inner bags

Mr. Obsession did a short recap of luggage bag technology a while ago, and he concluded that the Gen. 3 bags were of much higher quality than the Gen. 2 bags, at least that's how I remember it. LOL

    Split: Off-topic about haircuts

I get my hair cut while I am volunteering in prison, the only problem is that there is only one cut in prison. But, it's a free haircut and it keeps my wife from cutting my hair and me hearing the dreaded "oh crap", which meant I was going to have a large "hole" in my hair for a week or two. LOL

BMW s1000xr ridden to the max

I would love to see the "outtakes" from this video. A while ago there was a video of a guy on a bicycle doing stuff like this, and he fell down a dozen time in the outtakes. I
