    McCruise Control

To me, the difference is not having to deal with the vacuum lines. I don't know that it's an "advantage" as much as this is just a different method. Some say the vacuum method holds the cruise steady longer. I don't know if this kit is what they are comparing to or another manufacturer's. I...

    McCruise Control

This is a fantastic write-up! Thank you! Have you tried the Resume and Accel feature? For the resume at highway speeds, like passing semi-trucks on the interstate, I wonder how quick it is to respond. If it's like a car, great. The Accel, does it increment by 1mph? I've just returned from a...

Help Figure out what I need to replace

I made it home around midnight Central Time last night. Fewer issues :) Least of my worries :) Purchased new bulbs and replaced those before heading home. They were tossed. I don't think the pictures showed the grooves that were cut into the pads by something (rocks?) or that there...

    the cricket goes to CA

I opted for the daytime ride on the way back. i nearly regret it. LOTS more traffic of course and with that all the idiots. It probably didn't help that it was a holiday weekend. I learned a few things; The IronButt Hotel is only a viable option if it's an area devoid of bugs. Those "No...

New brake pads. Check Flush brake fluid, all around.. Check (thank Brodie & Hycle!) Test ride.. Check! Clear out to Markleeville, CA and back :) Brodie led me on a fun ride to make sure everything was working properly....and noticed that I have a headlight bulb out... oh fun. Thank...

Crisis averted....hopefully. Searched for EBC pads, found the (correct) part number. Amazon has them. Saturday delivery.

Help Figure out what I need to replace

Well, there's a hitch in the giddyup... The brake pads I ordered arrived. Four pads arrived...W.T.F. I used the part number and quantity that I got from the site I normally order from (partsfish.com, no affiliation, it's my hometown dealer). I found the email for that order (from april of...

A seal kit had been on my mind. It might be something we inspect once the new pads arrive. Thanks!

Help Figure out what I need to replace

Duly noted sir! Next question; If the rotors are not warped but are discolored from excessive heat, should I still consider replacing them? Are the rotors more brittle now? I have lots of mountain passes to traverse on the ride home.

Help Figure out what I need to replace

I'm at Hycle's. The pads are out, calipers cleaned. Cleaned up the area too. I'll upload pictures when I have wifi (currently under a really nice canopy Hycle set up over my FJR!) as I'm tethering using my phone. Hycle has a fancy thingy and doesn't think the rotors are warped. Yes, the one...

Help Figure out what I need to replace

I've called the dealer for the rotor replacement. Yes he can do it. He wants MSRP for the rotors ($252 each). I can get them ordered from my hometown dealer for $152/each. This dealer can't/won't match that price. The downside is that it will take 10 days. I have one more Sacremento area...

Help Figure out what I need to replace

Thank you all. I think after this event I'll be paying more attention to that service interval! The current plan is to replace the pads, rotors (front) and battery. Hycle reported that the current one is only showing 10.17v The rear pads will be ordered as well. We'll inspect the rear rotor...

Help Figure out what I need to replace

That's the only picture I have right now. I'll upload more tomorrow. The mis-aimed light is on purpose. I didn't use them for the trip, but I'll resolve that. The ABS sensor clip is the same that holds the orange reflector and I removed those. The fork seals were leaking and they were...

Are they the same for GenI and II? And, I think I've read where they're difficult to replace? If not, that would clearly be a better option than sourcing a different wheel with rotors.
