2015 Black Hills FJR Roundup 25-28 June 2015

Don't check the forum for a few months and **** like this happens... I can't commit yet. The last time I was out there ('07) was my first road trip on the FJR. It's a great area to ride and I've been wanting to go back. ...but the list of characters already going... has me a little worried...

    "Drag Chute" Tail Box

It should work. My cover originally didn't fit, but if I carefully roll it up tightly it fits perfectly. I think extra gloves, glasses (in a case) or things similar in size would fit in the 1150 easily. The 1120 is considerably smaller. I might take some pictures this evening with something...

    "Drag Chute" Tail Box

Clever marketing will get people every time. No, I really didn't install a proper drag chute, but I did the next best thing. I added more storage. The inspiration came from THIS thread. Brodie has some great pictures up and a good description. I'm more of a visual learner so when I did this...

Anyone got a gen 2 stock seat they could part with for cheap?

I'm not. I do really need the space they're taking up. I have two other sets of seats. Russell Day Longs for the road-trips and the Yamaha "Touring" set for my daily commute (I bought used off the forum years ago). I don't need three sets. You need one good set.

Setting Up A 2013 FJR for LD Riding

While I'm not a serious LD rider, I do like these threads. Just ordered a Pelican case for the "License plate mod" And the next time I'm in the Bay Area I'm buying Brodie his favorite drink. Great job Shuey! Nice looking ride and set up! Can't wait to read some ride reports and follow you...

Gen II Factory Seats & Used saddlebags

I've had this stuff in my garage for a while and it's time for it to find a good home. The seats are the originals from my 2007. The pillion seat's cover was removed and put back during an attempt to test an idea that didn't pan out. Would still work for a pillion seat, but it's cover is not...

What does your FJR look like loaded for a trip?

Ride to Rocky Mountain National Park (2007) for a backcountry hike. Backpack with all essential gear strapped to the rear seat; NAFO 2008;, IA to CO CA trip in 2008 (tent, sleeping pad, sleeping bag added) I don't have any pics from CFO 2012 or other rides, but I purchased a gently...

2013 Iron Butt Rally - The Inside View

water, water, water, water, water -- If you get tired of it or want a different flavor, get sugar-free lemon drops. (or similar). I think I had one Coke along the way. It was a nice break and a 'reward' for being ahead of schedule at one stop. it also helps to know what foods "go right thru...
