    windshield rattles

Are you sure it is the screen rattling and not the brake pads? While I agree there is movement back and forth on my '06 when the shield is in the lowest position (which seems to go away as you raise the shield), I don't notice any rattling. I do notice rattling from the brake pads in the...

Any reports on the Cycleport mesh

Heavier? I would have thought just the opposite having never seen or felt any of this stuff. I wish Wayne would do a tour with the Cycle World Motorcycle Shows so I could see, feel and try on this stuff before spending the $$.

Any reports on the Cycleport mesh

What were the reasons you chose the mesh instead of the 4-way stretch (Ultra II) kevlar? California temps?

Any reports on the Cycleport mesh

Has anyone done a back to back test of the mesh verses the 4-way kevlar in hot weather? Since the 4-way offers better protection, I'd rather get that. But, if it's so warm that I wouldn't want to use it in the Summer (NY), it would be a waste of money for me. I'd like to use it for 3 seasons...

Any reports on the Cycleport mesh

It looks like everyone here who has this stuff has the "air mesh kevlar" and not the "4-way stretch kevlar" variety which they advertise as stronger (from an abrasion standpoint) than leather. Asside from the increase in airflow, is there a difference in the protection factor (abrasion...

Riding the FJR in Heavy Rain

This makes sense since putting the side vents in the open position is suppose to deflect (cool) air away from the rider.

    06/07 Fairing/Cowl Vents

I contacted Yamaha customer service when I first got my '06 last summer. They say: open deflects cool air away from the rider and closed doesn't. Therefore, open should be warmer and closed should be cooler.

    Feeling Used and Abused:

I've come to the conclusion that it's probably best to learn how to service and install mods myself. I've yet to find a dealer on L.I. I feel I can trust in the service area and there are 8 Yamaha dealers within 50 miles of me! The name of the game seems to be big volume sales in the showroom...

Absolutely nothing wrong with my 2005 FJR1300ATC

All this trouble-free talk is making me re-think my decision to purchase the YES extended warranty. i only have until the end of this month to decide. On top of that, I can't find a dealer I can trust to work on the bike. Even though I got a recommendation from a member here as to a...

    The Motorcycle Wave....

HD guys only want to recognize other HD guys. Sport bikes and sport tourers are easy for them to ignore. But, the Jap cruisers are playing the copycat thing so well these days that it's making it real difficult for the HD guys to decide whether to wave or not. It's especially rewarding...

    My apologies to everyone here

Hey, welcome back, Fred. How about an argument over the '06 fairing vents for old times sake. I'll start off. Open is hotter, closed is cooler ...

    Front brake rattle

Oops. My agreement about not worrying was a reference to rattling pads, not rotors. I thought this was a common occurrence on '06 models. I'm not sure about '07s.
