    Anyone doing Biketoberfest?

I stopped by "Down the Hatch" at 6 today but didn't see any of you guys. On the way back to Okeechobee I linked up with a gen I (an 04 I think) that was riding 2 up going south on I-95 north of Fort Pierce. I also saw a couple of Harley's.

    FJR Spider purchase

The problem with caring a spare spider is that when they fail they tend to burn up the connector and the wire harness therefore another spider wont help. I would recommended that you look at the Brodie or road runner cables to work as a preventative measure.

    Difficult Start

I had the same issue with my '06 a few weeks ago. The bike sat for a week and wouldn't start. It finely started after cranking (for a while) with the throttle wide open. I have searched the forum and this is not an unheard of problem but didn't see a definitive cause or solution other than...

    Need some advice on Y.E.S

I don't really know what I am talking about... so here goes. If the price of a given term policy is fixed by the state, then why is an insurance policy from provider "A" priced differently from a (seemingly) identical insurance policy from provider "B"? Also if the state of FloriDUH "fixes"...

    Need some advice on Y.E.S

I am kind of late to the party, but when I bought my YES from D&H they took care of the address changes with Yamaha for me. All I had to do was tell them my non-Florida address send them the money. My local dealer in Okeechobee said it was against Florida law (this of course is Bull-S#!t) for...

    2010 Appalacian Camping Meet

I was there. I liked it, and I'd do it again. Intech, The BMW guy was between your tent and mine... I thought he was with you so I tolerated him. :derisive:

    Brake pad concern

What you are seeing is the result of linked brakes on the Gen II bikes. The rear brakes are linked to one set of pads on the front right.

how to plug a tire using sticky string?

I agree with Ashe. I am not opposed to using the glue but it seems that every time I need it the glue is dried up. I have two bikes and ride one or the other daily. At this moment they both have a sticky string plug in the rear tire and both are holding air (no glue was used in either repair).

    speeding............ooops...

I was on the bike going home on US27. This section of US27 is normally 4 lanes with a 65 mph speed limit, but they were resurfacing and the speed limit was 55 in the construction areas. It was around 5pm and I was sort of in a hurry to make happy hour in Okeechobee. I am cruising along at about...

    Water getting in gas tank

I have read on this forum that a blocked fuel vent tube will create a vacuum in the fuel tank. But I don't recall of any cases where it sucked in rain water. You may be the first with this problem. Sometimes it sux to be the leader.

    Used FJR Price Advice

Barry, In my opinion, you probably wont have any issues riding the FJR (watch out for the power thou). Where you will have problems (at least I did) is when the bike is stopped. You will drop your first 600+ pound bike at least once during the first year. I have an 06 that I bought new and have...
