Do you have access to a different 36mm socket? Friend of mine had a similar issue with a torx t50 bit while servicing his shift lever. Swore up and down the bolt was wrong. His torx bit was from Harbor Freight so I told him to go get another t50 bit from somewhere else and try it. Problem...

Never had the pleasure of meeting him or the dogs but often read his posts and enjoyed his pictures. My condolences to his friends and family. He came a cross as a genuine decent person and those are always missed.

The shock I bought off eBay was originally sold by Traxxion and came with all the original paperwork and instructions which was nice. Penske had me fill out a form to package with the shock when I sent it in for rebuild. Questionaire about rider weight, passenger weight, how much luggage etc...

You can also send the shock right to Penske for rebuild. Since I'm in PA and so is Penske I went that route. I bought a used one off eBay in 21 and at that time Penske was charging $185 for rebuild.

I've always felt Yamaha missed the boat with only offering one color like that. I first test rode a FJR back in 2009 and while I loved the bike I won't own a black vehicle. Nothing wrong with the I just know I'd never keep it clean enough.

I use a Givi 56l top box and have the Givi rack on top of it but rarely use the rack. On the few times I have used it the only things I put there are very lightweight items such as our rain gear and extra gloves or some lightweight clothing. I always carry a dry bag and rok straps in the top box...

Book arrived from Amazon, can't wait to start reading it. This is a serious volume of work here. Could easily use as a substitute for a door stop or wheel chock once finished.
