    DFW area 1st Saturday/Sunday Schedule

Okie doke. Here is what I'm proposing. What: meet and greet, drink coffee, eat pastries, talk about the good ole days When: Sunday August 3rd, 9:30 am Where: Main Street Bread Baking Company, Grapevine TX Google Map Link I can only get away for about an hour or so. Anyone else think...

I moved to this crazy place and love it.....

Well... we may not have mountains, but if you head down south of Granbury towards Cranfill's Gap and places beyond you do get some nice elevation and twists and turns which make for some great riding. Otherwise you're headed down south of Kerrville or out west to Big Bend. Hmmm... maybe we...

I'd suggest Stadium Yamaha on Airport Freeway in Irving. They're on your right on the service road as you're headed towards Dallas on 183/Airport Freeway. I think it's the O'Connor exit?

    DFW area 1st Saturday/Sunday Schedule

Odot, I'll leave it to you to work with what goes on this weekend. I'm going to cruise up to Grapevine to find the name of that independant coffee shop on Main St. I know I spend an embarrasing amount of money at Starbuck's but that's because it's convenient at 5 am. Personally, I'd rather...

    New North Texas member!

I really have to agree with Fuzzy on this. I love my FJR and can't imagine not having it in the stable. That being said, it is by no means a good starter bike since it can be such a handful. In addition to the SV650, I'd add the Yammy FZ6 and Kawi Ninja 650R. In addition to a more manageable...

    DFW area 1st Saturday/Sunday Schedule

You know what though Odot, I thought the same thing when I first clicked the link but when I adjusted the zoom level it really seems like a very easy ride. Coffee, kickstands up at 9:30 and your still done in time for a late lunch. I changed the perspective a little on Fuzzy's map. Fuzzy Map

I moved to this crazy place and love it.....

As a fellow resident of the Metromess, welcome to North Texas! I live right down the road from you in Bedford. Looks like we're organizing a get together the first Sunday in August right in Grapevine. Maybe you can make it out? If there's anything I can do to help out or provide local...

Isn't there some local coffee place right about here? Google Map On Main Street, before College?

    DFW area 1st Saturday/Sunday Schedule

Time to plan a ride and GTG for August? That first weekend is going to be busy for me, but I could meet for coffee on the front end on Sunday the 3rd. Somewhere in Grapevine maybe?

    FJR vs R6 vs 848

Congrats on the R6! Sometimes you just gotta listen to the inner hooligan and give in. I love my FJR, but a clocked about 250 miles on the Daytona this past Saturday and loved every mile of it. I can still hear the growl of that triple opening up.

Anybody going to the ROT (Republic of Texas) rally 6/12-6/15?

You know on the bright side of the whole thing is the fact that the local roads that typically see a lot of harley traffic will likely be a lot less crowded.

    June, 1st Saturday ride? (6/7/2008)

It's not a hijack. I actually posted this with the hope that we'd get you out with us one more time.

    Buying a Dedicated Track Bike

If you decide you want to pick up a bike that has already been prepped, check out the wera forums: https://forums.13x.com/showthread.php?t=176470 Typically if you buy a bike that is track ready, you can get extra goodies that typically don't show up in the asking price, things like rearsets...

    Brought a blonde home yesterday

Sounds like good advice to me. It's the reality of track abuse that made me opt for a used one versus getting a brand new one. 3,100 on the odo, got me about 3k less on the '07 vs a brand new '08.

    British Blonde stablemate for FJR

LOL almost like a buttery nipple??? I've actually had that helmet for a while. Figure my noggin sticks up higher than the rest of me and likely needs to be the most visible and attention getting.

    Brought a blonde home yesterday

I've got a wonderful wife who understands that she married an incorrigible hooligan. Granted, something about mortages, children and responsibility have tempered that somewhat, but only some. The Daytona purchase was primarily to give me something to take back to the track.
