On my '06 when I installed the sliders (can't remember the brand) I seem to remember that one was longer than the other and consequently had a bolt that was longer. Where the actual sliders you got from Bikejohnny the same length?

Tom, have you looked into installing sliders yet? I'm planning on going with the motovation slider, but their website states they will not fit the '08 so was curious if you've looked into it yet.

I ended up snipping off the helmet speakers then adding a female mini stereo jack (similar to the first one listed on this page: https://www.smcelectronics.com/conn.htm) Then I was able to use my custom molded ear plugs with speakers without modifying them.

There's nothing like that first ride on an FJR. You sorta get the sense that everything is right with the world. Does that mean we're likely to see you somewhere down the road on one of your own?

That's so great to hear that your wait is about to finally come to an end. Tony is a great guy. I'm eagerly waiting to hear about the arrival of the '08's sometime this month. We'll have to plan some time to share some roads before too long. Many happy and safe miles!

I'm pretty much settled on adding a Triumph 675 to the mix late next spring. It'll be pretty much a dedicated track bike. If you have a Triumph dealership near you, stop by and take one for a spin. The ergos would be rough for a long ride, but for track duty or highly technical back roads...

One night as I was heading home, a car load of girls stopped at the light next to me. When the driver rolled down the window and said "nice bike!" with a big smile on her face, I winked and thumbed the switch to raise the windscreen. Left them all laughing when the light turned green.

Thanks for the feedback. I'm guessing Motovation is being extra cautious. I'd rather take the chance and order them so I can get them on the bike as soon after delivery as possible and deal with returning them if I have to afterwards.
