    D3O Armor

I had some tightness in the knees of my Aerostich, so I cut up a D3O back pad into two kneed pads. I agree, it's flexible and light weight! (And affordable too)

    Red Lodge Rendezvous Ride Report

To be fair, Fontanaman shows unusual disdain for lunch, and to stopping in general. I think he'll only observe lunch with no complaints when Mrs. Fontanaman is serving it.

    FJR vs K1600 ?

Buy custom seats, not generic aftermarket ones, and keep your eyes open for a trailer. Problems solved. BMW guys will tell you that somewhere out there, there is a guy riding the bike you are looking at who hasn't had reliability issues. (sort of like the justification for the existence of life...

    Help Identifying A Sensor

IIRC, that's the plug for the camshaft position sensor. Did you rip them out of the sensor side or harness side? Replacement plugs can be found here: https://www.cycleterminal.com/090-connectors.html

You should mention whether you have an Apple or Android product. Escapefjrtist helped me link Bubbler on my android phone to Spotwalla, no problems so far.

Gen I / 03 front brake line question

I had a similar situation with the rear brake on my '03, but the banjo bolt on the caliper was just ever so slightly loose. Pop the fork guard off on the leaky side and check for fluid there first, as the suggestion about the leaky fork seal is a possibility. You'll also lose fluid in the front...

    Turning my traffic light GREEN!

Ferrous metal doesn't really help here either. At the 10Khz+ frequencies loop sensors use to operate, aluminum is quite sufficient. If they operated at 60Hz,you'd want iron rims.

2008 model - What's it worth & should I be worried about it's limited use?

The funny thing that will happen here is that the seller will believe the low mileage warrants a higher price, but in reality, the same bike with 25,000 miles that's had a valve clearance check and some fresh skins put on will ultimately serve you better. Don't overpay on this one!

    Tire pressure gauges

I like the Milton sliding gauges. They are a few extra dollars, but well worth it.

Just weld some more steel over those plastic seams just to be sure they don't come apart ;) .

    Yamaha Customer Service Contact ?

You should be more specific about your issue. If there's a technical service bulletin for your problem, or a lot of documentation elsewhere, you can often use that to help motivate your dealer to sort your issue out.

Notes on Diag 31 for Gen1

The code was not clearable in my case, as I tried to wipe it on the side of the road and drive on. It also couldn't be cleared once the new sensor was in, I had to wait for the bike to warm up, then run it at steady cruising RPM's for several minutes to extinguish the light. I lost about 3 mpg...
