    Got Her Home

Congrats on the purchase, and get used to the wind. Down here in Austin, I've been getting blasted with 20+ gusts regularly for the past month. It seems to whip my bike around pretty good. I think it's probably because of the topbox. Again, conrats, and have fun. Lucas

    Newbile in Central Texas

Wow, a brand new 07? That's awesome. Congrats on the new ride. I'm sure you won't be dissapointed. Lucas

    Greetings, and help?

Ditto on what Wheaton said. All 07's have ABS. If it's black cherry in color, then it has ABS. If the salesman told you that it didn't, then use that to your bargaining advantage. Either way, they're both really nice bikes. If it were me, i'd go with the 07. Lucas

    CO Adjustments

I have a 2007. When you guys talk about the surging between 1000-3000, what exactly does it feel like? I've always had a snatchy problem. For instance, when going through corners, I will down shift, and when I get back on the throttle, there is a sudden jerk. Or, today I was going into a...

    I'm Thinkin' Maybe New Tires

That is some really funky wearing on the front tire. It looks like it is off to one side. Do you lean to one side in the saddle a lot? Lucas

    givi topbox tail mount

If you're going to be loading it heavy for a full trip, go with the SR357. It has more mounting points, which equals greater load distribution. You can always remove the Givi plate, and fabricate your own luggage plate when you're not using the Givi. There are only 4 bolts that hold it on. Lucas

    Givi questions

For the guys that are experiencing cracking of the subframe, and then cracking of the plastic grab rails. Are y'all riding Gen I or Gen II. I have an 07 with the factory top box, and I absolutely abuse it, and have never had an issue. You guys got me worried now though. I regularly carry...

    Me Got Some BIG Boxes

That looks like a great tool. I once bought the Harbor Freight setup, and it was the biggest piece of junk. Spent about 2 hours wrestling with it, and finally took it back. That No-Mar looks like a well thought out tool. Lucas

    Dropped my bike today

This is exactly what I did the other day. Same routine as always: pull in drive way, turn off key, put down kickstand, dismount. However, and I don't know how it happened, I completely left out the kick stand part. I started to dismount like normal, and got to the point where it would...

Jack Under Pipe Header To Lift Front End?

That's how I change my front. Put it on the center stand, and the jack has a rubber pad that goes seats on the 2 and 3 header pipes. Works like a charm. On sport bikes, I've always done the same thing, but put the kickstand down since there is no center stand. Lucas

    Antlers are AWESOME!

You got a direct link for those mirrors? Thanks, Lucas

    Air Induction System Removal

What are the benefits of doing both of these mods? Are there any drawbacks to either? Thanks, Lucas

Has anyone ever upgraded their bags?

Did you do a custom setup with the wingracks? Do you have any pics of them mounted? Lucas

Has anyone ever upgraded their bags?

It's not that I would sell it because of what others thought, it would be because it's not possible to install the side bags. So back to the original question, is it possible to install different side bags similar to those in the picture? Does anyone have any first hand experience? Thanks, Lucas

Has anyone ever upgraded their bags?

About 5 weeks ago, I parked my truck, and have been solely driving my 07 FJR. I'm starting to notice more and more that I'm running out of room. I have the 2 factory side cases, and an OEM top case. The problem is, the bags and case look big on the outside, but they aren't near as big on the...

I just changed my oil.... and......

I checked, it wasn't from the protector. It was fairly chewed up, so it came from inside. Lucas

I just changed my oil.... and......

I'm almost positive the bike wasn't rode hard. The owner was the original owner, and was probably 68-70 years old. He was very easy going, and told me that he just rode the bike on the weekends, usually 300 mile rides.

I just changed my oil.... and......

Eeeeeeeek :dribble: :dribble: That's terrible. There's definitely no slipping. I've ran the piss out of her a couple of times now, and she pulls hard and fast. However, I will try again tomorrow, just for giggles. Lucas

I just changed my oil.... and......

Trust me, I have no regrets about this bike. $6000.00 for an 07 with 16000 miles. Just trying to figure out how the previous owner treated her. He was an older man who lived out in the sticks. I'm beginning to think he didn't take the greatest care of her. That's where I come in. I'm going...

I just changed my oil.... and......

Well, on the ride home from work today, everything went great. I know changing your oil shouldn't make that big of a difference, but this one seriously did. I know i'm not imagining things either. The bike really does act like a completely different animal now. The shifting is firmer, and...
