Maybe the FJR ain't God's gift to motorcycles after all

33 in four years - Ahhh - yoot! That was in the dark days of 55 mph. I blamed Sammy Hagar. 0 with the Feejer (so far)

Maybe the FJR ain't God's gift to motorcycles after all

I've got a gripe. I miss my bike. Oh yeah, I miss my wife too. I've got an '04, and it may be a ticker, but I can't hear it at elevated speed, my tires wear much too quickly, and gas costs too much. And farkles should be free. This is the best bike I've ever owned, it's invisible to LEOs, and...

    Which Model FJR?

I think I'll just put my info in the signature section. That way, I can give a little background on myself for y'all, and show what machines I've owned and crashed and fallen over on. Also, it takes up some room, relieving me of the burden of having to come up with something deep. Or witty. Or...

I wonder who will wave at me this time...

I wave at just about everyone, and usually get a wave back. If not, I either shine it on, or do the jerkin'off thing, depending on my spiritual condition(or lack thereof...). I have noticed that the wave has changed over the years, from, Just A Couple of Fingers Lifted, to The Whole Dang Arm Up...

    Thinking of buying an FJR

2 things... I've got a '93 K1100LT with 95,000 miles that just sits in the garage attracting dust since I got Feejer. I've got LOTS of issues. Get the FJR!

    Memorial Day

Obviously I don't post much, but I've gotta tip my hat to Rad, and say thanks. You really hit it on the head. The best way to honor vets is to live unselfishly, and well. And remember that what we enjoy, was bought for a price that somebody else had to pay. When I came home on leave last month...

    No it's not a BMW

Got tired of that stuff too. Now I tape a sheet of paper to the back of ths windscreen that says "Yamaha FJR 1300, BMW gathering dust in garage"

Does anyone have a cortech gx air w/leather jacket?

Got the Cortech GX Sport and like it loads. It has a good, snug fit, so the armor doesn't move around, and the liner works really well. On 50 degree days, I just wore a T-shirt, no problems. One thing I really am pleased with, is the complete lack of any wind leaks. None at all, but with the...

    Autcom Pro AVI Intercom evaluation

Thanks Fred! I've been lurking and looking at these systems for a while, and it seems that your review will be enough to push me over the edge. All the local shops carry the other brands, and I just didn't want to bite, based on things I had read and heard. Thanks for the thorough review. Scott

    Oxtar Matrix

I've had the Matrix boots for going on 2 years now, and they are functionally great. A bit stiff at first, but they get better. They are easy to get on and off, and because they are warm and dry, I find that I wear them during the winter when shovelling snow or just running around. Looks...

    Aerostich

Just started to break in my new Cortech GX Sport, and it fits great! Armor doesn't move around, which means that it will work like it's supposed to. Liner is easy to install/remove. The vents work well - IA spring day, sunny, 70s, but no unwanted air leaks in. Little snug in forarms, but there...

    Military FJR Owners

I'll confirm with the Navigator when I get home, but it's either KC or Geneva if we're gonna look at Rev'It! stuff. Only bad thing about Iowa - bike shops are few, and small. But friendly. Oh, do you know how to reduce pictures size? If I were smarter, I wouldn't have a gubmint job.

    PHID Lamps - GROUP BUY

I'm in! Number 28 and counting. I think I'll be able to melt some deer - or quick fry 'em, one.

How far are you from Geneva? They've got a Rev'It! dealer there, and I'd like to check out the product. I'll also try to post a couple of pictures of stuff over here, including my M 1114 Road Warrior. Most of the M-1s cruise up and down the highway looking for trouble.

Geez... Hope I'm doing this right. Army since '74. Currently in Iraq(again). Have an '04 waiting at home in the garage(again). Does this mean I've gotta get an avatar?
