Have you checked your helmet after its been there for a few minutes afre a long ride?? I have something similar to these, But I took it off becasue the heat from the exhaust was making my helmet really hot where the helmet was near the pipes.

I can only guess that you dont follow long distance riding much, They have been doing this for years without any real issues other then those we experience with our motorcycle tires, So your safety theory is out the window.

Well I put almost 2K miles on them, They are just as smooth as the tires they replaced. Grip fine, I drug a peg a few times on my trip. For $168 delivered to my door, I cannot complain at all.

I have ridden them both, Didnt see anything worth upgrading my 2005 for. Keep the 2003 , there is so little difference you wont notice.
