Is The FJR1300 Dead? No 2025 Model?

"Additionally, Yamaha is announcing that the FJR1300ES Sport Touring model and the Super Ténéré ES Adventure Touring model will no longer be offered in the U.S. market for 2025."

TIRES?? What tires are everyone running on their FJR?

Round tires seem to work best. Octagonal tires will give you a bumpy ride. ..Sorry, couldn't help myself. Your question is legit. Manufactures change their tire composition, so what tires are good now. But you need to consider what's important. Grip, rain, higher mileage longer wear.

    2025 FJR Speculation

Agree. I prefer shaft drive, but if the FJR is not coming back, what is left to choose from? R1200 or 1250 RT? K-bike or Goldwing? not for me. BMW reliability? If a BMW bike has an issue on a LD ride, I will have problems finding a dealer, with probably a long tow. Plus, the cost of BMW parts...

    2025 FJR Speculation

I hope not. I love the sound of the FJR engine. Three cyl. engines are inherently unbalanced. In a 2 or 4 cyl. engine one piston is going up while the opposing piston is going down. Counter weighting is a compromise, which I guess Yamaha justifies because it costs less to manufacture. Besides...

    2025 FJR Speculation

We will know soon; I think last model year was announced in November. But if we are speculating, my bet is that there will be an updated TFT display, maybe a cosmetic change in the instrument panel and/or the plastic bits, and likely radar cruise control and a $700 price increase.

Flat Blue Paint - How is it holding up?

Hello, Looking at 2016 and 2018. Wondering how the flat blue on 2018 FJR is holding up for you. Does it get "sort of" shiny where your hands and clothing rub? Does it have issues with water spots after washing? What happens if you wax the bike? You get the idea. Thanks in advance for replying. -DL

    New recall?

On the other forum, a user posted a picture of his Canadian recall notice dated "November 2021". I can't read the recall number. But it is a re-flash of the ECU. The letter says: "However, this rev-limiter programming may be overly restrictive, possibly preventing the acceleration performance...

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

A thought. If the dealer does not have the parts, the bike probably has not been disassembled. Why not just go pick it up? Ride the rest of the season and have the tranny done over the winter.

    Name that FJR

Well.. If you asked my wife it would be "that damned motorcycle".

    2022 FJR?

Somebody here probablly knows. You would think that with all the FJR people on this forum, FJROwners and IBR, SOMEBODY would be a Yamaha employee or have an inside track into what Yamaha will do in 2022. The decision for the 2022 model year had to have been made a long time ago for sub...

    2022 FJR?

Didn't BMW achieve the emission requirements by going to variable valve timing in the R1250 series by using the existing engine and modifying the heads?  Couldn't Yamaha do the same?

Acquiring Boxed FJR in the PNW?

A long long time ago, when I was into small block chevy engines, there was a never ending debate about breaking in an engine. Some said run it full out, others said take it easy for a few hundred miles. What seem to make the most sense to me was to run it with light loads and after an hour or...

Any Info on buying below MSRP?

I did a quick Google, no web site, but found another dealer in Cully whose site mentions D&H as having been renamed. The new named D&H looks like it is a Kawasaki dealer, but I did not see that they were a Yamaha dealer.

FJRF013 - Transmission Recall for Second Gear (DE, UK, CA, & US) (2016-2020)

A little snippy, Ignacio. Some dealers are not doing well. The Yamaha dealer I bought my last FJR from has gone out of business. When a small business is squeezed, short cuts are found.
