Where to tap into a "switchable power" source?

I tapped into the power connection inside the front left cubby... with help... to make my GPS hard wired and switched. Works like a charm, my gps is always on, and off at the right times. This won't support a tire pump or big heated gear as it's a smaller fused connection, and would blow...

    I used a non-OEM oil filter...hope my bike doesn't blow up!

If you look at it like a belly button, get the one with the 'innie' not the one with the 'outie'.

Racers Parts Wharehouse going out of business, 50% off

    I looked it up repeatedly... 4 x SB8125L (M8 x 1.25) for the front and clutch. 1 x SB7100S (M7 x 1.0) for the rear. I already have a bag so $25 + 10 shipping = $35.

what's the best solution for highway pegs?

+1 for Garauld stuff! I have the highway pegs w/ Rivco pegs... look great but I still hit my fairing trying to get to them. Also, note you can stretch out to the sliders in the same pic. Any new position (even back to the passenger pegs) helps prevent leg soreness. YMMV

    Yuasa battery - Alternative.

I believe Yuasa is from Japan and is OEM. The others seem to be from China ... and are almost always less quality and less longevity... for less moola. My buddy from Taiwan says 'always buy from Japan whenever possible'. YMMV

    Gen 3 mirror mount/stay broken

...and considerably more fragile as well. I dropped mine due to rolling off the kickstand and dinged the engine case, the fairing, broke the mirror and the stay, and scratched the pipe (no bags on). I fixed the mirror and the stay (with a lot of friends help) and replaced the plastic. I can...

    Which Givi top box best?

If you're carrying a pillion, you probably NEED the extra storage of a box. I have the Givi 55 and it holds 2 FF helmets. The Yamaha box doesn't.

    2003 FJR

Congrats on buying the Fastest and lightest of all the FJRs!!! Now ask the P.O. why he sat around instead of going riding? Everything is old and dry and bad. Start with all new fluids, and tires, and lube everything you can find. Listen for any 'ticking'. I loved my 2003, but it ONLY had 78k...

    News Bias

This is... 'My worst nightmare... realized'. I try to see ahead whenever the 'left turn nightmare' approaches, but just today someone did it (bad left turn right in front of me) in my BUICK!

    New tires

I think of tires kinda like I think of helmets... Since it's the only thing between you and (maybe) the road ... get the best you can afford.

The one BMW thing I miss

Many FJR riders have also had Connies.... the C10 or C14 Concours. Look up www.cog-online.org and join another great group of sport-tourers. The moto is 'Join for the bike... stay for the people'. We don't care what brand you ride, just ride. Most regions have at least a ride each month, and...
